The article's sort of amusing if you consider the long immigration history between Ireland and the U.S. (how many Americans claim Irish ancestry? Normally, I mean, not on St. Patrick's Day.)

My sister visited Dublin as a student and lived in Cork, and she loved it.

It's a truly beautiful little lump of clay.

My husband is from the North, and I think the statistics we have here are for citizens from the Republic. Dublin is of course in the Republic, and there is tremendous economic growth there. According to my husband a lot of the job growth is service related.

Whether one considers himself an irishman or an ulsterman is irrelevant at the end of the day. It's a beautiful place, and the people who populate it are some of the most gracious, hospitable and downright jovial people you could ever want to meet.

But yeah, I do think it's probably cold there - although the typical temperature range for winter is the 40's. I've wondered how much sunshine they get and that's really the only part of the climate that has concerned me whenever I've thought of us once living there. I've gotta have my sunshine!

You know that's one of the things I remember helped me decide to leave....the weather, it's a long, damp, cold winter! Sunshine wise....probably not as much as you would like Rebecca! It's funny when I think of home and the possibility of moving back, I tend to think of only the good things. Maybe a summer house is the answer, LOL, if only!

ET-US I understand it looks different percentage wise, that was not my point.......The point is, it's probably the first time in history that there are less Irish people wanting the "american dream" than americans wanting the "celtic dream".........never happened before! I don't know what numbers were in past years, but it would have been a much, much higher number and percentage of Irish coming to the US. Americans going to Ireland would have been too few to count!

When I was in Dublin, it certainly didn't look just white to me...

That's not the point, Alex. Even if Dublin was all white, so effing what?

Just saying... the facts are important too.

I won't get into the whole "it's exactly the same when you insult white people as any other race" debate because I think that's #######, for reasons previously described.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I am sorry but hating and insulting white people just for being white is just

as racist as hating black people just for being black.

Well, can't blame Americans for discovering that the beer is much better on the little green island.

Oh aye and that it is!!! So much better that an Englishman in London told me not to drink the Guinness even on the mainland, that the best beer was in Ireland!!

Man, I could really go for a half..... ;)
