Excellent. I like your persistency, it's very refreshing and motivational.

This does not work....you can call until you are blue in the face. You will not get an interview appointment. They are not scheduling appointments again until the 2nd week of September.

They have a routine that they follow and they are not going to change that just because you keep calling many times.

Congrats, you have to be a happy person today. And thanks for the post, it is very much more informative that one would first think. However, even though I am sure that it made you feel much better, all the calls and such didn't really play into it. An NVC approval of 8/2 got a 9/14 interview without any phone calls, and your 8/10 approval got a 9/18 interview with phone calls/emails. Things are progressing about normal. However, what it does prove is that just as the other time I was involved with this (father-in-law before), the NVC will tell you that they only set up appointments on the second tue of the month (not completely true), and the next month is already full (not completely true). They get less phone calls this way. What will really happen is that the embassy will send NVC a list for the next month that NVC sets up on the second Tuesday, however, the embassy has x amount of appointments for each type of interview each day on that schedule, but they adjust those as need warrants or as appointments are cancelled for whatever reason. Even though the interviews may be full for September for CR1/IR1, all interview dates are not full, as the embassy adjusts and adds more CR1/IR1's, they will notify NVC which then schedules the next in line, regardless of what day it is. Looks like right now, the Manila embassy interviews are falling about a month/month and a half from NVC approval date which is a little slower than two years ago but not by much. Anyway, believe who/what you want, but a lot of research and experience has shown that this is they way it is done for Manila.

Let me clarify to all....my wife's appointment will be at he U.S. Consolate in Hong Kong, not the U.S. Embassy in Manila. She is a Filipina working in Hong Kong.

And for those folks who say persistancy does not work...it did, at least in my case. I called NVC multiply times...spoke to several Customer Service folks...and 2 supervisors...they all said that the same thing...that all the appointments are NORMALLY scheduled during the second week of each month. I was not satisfied with these answers...so I contacted the U.S. Consolate in Hong Kong. I went back and forth with them with several e-mails. I sincerly believe that the explainations to them regarding the effects of these crazy delays caused them to send a specific request to NVC. My receipt of an appointment was just too fast after my last contact with the U.S. Consolate/Hong Kong. Im not saying that this will work with everybody situation/circumstance....each person's case is different and unique, but it did work in mine. To all of those people are still waiting for an interview date...do as much as you can...even if you get to be a "pain in the neck" reputation with the NVC! Good luck to all!

Disregard the naysayers. Misery loves company you know.

You followed your process and it worked for you and yours.

Congrats again and good luck on the rest of the journey.
