Over 10 days after approved vIsa interview in GZ

We will haven't recieved my fiancées visa by EMS. Should we be worried? What are the paths to take I she doesn't get her visa after all?? Contact my congressman? It kind of feels like no-man's land right now...

She got a white letter saying that her visa has been approved by the GZ consulate right after she had her interview.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

maybe your fiance has to go to the embassy to take the visa..did your fiance call to ask about the status of her visa yet??

In Indonesia you have to take the visa at the embassy ..i don't know about China tho..

did your wife write the tracking number? that could help determine if they mail the passport.

if it goes into administrative review, have your politicians contact them for follow ups.

Hi Walter,

First email consulate and ask them to advise you the status of visa and you also can call DOS (202) 663-1225 press 1 then press 0 to get a human and they can tell you 1) interview result 2) if you were put in AP 3) if visa has been issued 4)if visa is mailed( which actually means it is in mailroom getting bundle) Check tracking number on EMS website, if it shows in system- it has left consulate and is at GUZ post office.

Hey Walter - echo what Geek/Geekette mention -

Call The DoS Hotline.

Get a Human.

Direct questions:

1. What is the status of my casefile?

2. Is the casefile in administrative review?

3. Is the casefile in administrative processing ?

Use a Telephone, call DoS, get a Human, inquire.

DoS Hotline knows casefile status, on all timeticks since 'GUZ IV opened casefile' forward.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Walter my wife's visa took 16 days to arrive after the interview. Their visa printing machine is old and runs out of ink.

Like Uncle Darnell says you can call and talk to a human and they might tell you Administrative Processing or Administrative Review but don't freak out we were told both at different points.

You could also send an email to the IV unit as suggested.

It's only been 10 days so I wouldn't push the panic button yet.

Jane got hers at 11 am and got on the plane at 4 pm.

my workplace is a nonprofit and we don't have any ink downtime. and we have redundant systems too.

My girl and I have been in Admin. process/review with no other documents requested since July 31. Join the Limbo club. I don't know what the heII is going on in Guangzhou.

I wrote an email Monday, they got back to me the next day via email and said that it is still in review/process write back again if you don't hear anything in 3 weeks. I called yesterday, they said still in review/process call again next week.

Some say the wait could be average 1-2 months, up to 6 months or could be sooner.

Little information is given.

Walter, just hang tough. My wife also got the white approval letter after their interviews. It took 9 days from the interview in Guangzhou for my wife to receive the passports and visas at her home in Liaoning province. I was pleasantly surprised. From my experience with China's EMS (Express Mail Service), often it doesn't seem to be on the same level of service and punctuality as FedEx or UPS in the States. You could email the GUZ IV unit and inquire, or the DoS hotline as others have suggested.

Hope it shows up soon. It will all work out.
