Good Afternoon Everyone,

I had a question that my wife and I need some help with. My wife is a 26 year woman from Colombia and we are applying for a CR1 Visa. Our NVC case was completed as of 8/16/2012 and we are awaiting an interview date with the U.S. Embassy in Bogota. We are worried about the vaccination and medical exam process. I have heard absolute horrible things about Dr. Roa and his practices and I am nervous that I will have to spend a small fortune on vaccinations. If it turns out that my wife needs most or all of the vaccinations, how much cash am I looking to spend here? I am under the impression that it will be a few hundred dollars. Any help or advice would be awesome.

Thank You and Good Luck!!!

Joe Kwa.

Read through this thread. Warnings against Dr. Roa also. But there is some advice there also.

Good Luck

Don't go to Dr Roa, go to one of the others and get vaccinations before you go or from family doctor. My fiance called Red Cross and was quoted for the 3 vaccinations and it came out to just under $85 total. She will be getting them in 2 weeks so I will let you know if it comes out different.

Hmmm, I just realized the thread I recommended to you was your thread anyhow........oops8rh.gif

With all the warnings that were given to you in the other thread regarding Dr. Roa, you still are going to use him?

Maybe moderators can merge the 2 topics as they are related???

Yes you can... My wife had hers done at the red cross in Medellin on 10-25-2011. Her appointment was with Dr. Gonzalez on 11-04-2011 with no problems. She was required to get the influenza shot at her appointment which she had not done in Medellin (so three shots in Medellin and one in Bogota). I don't remember the cost for the vaccinations but it was well under $100 - I think around $70.

I would recommend if you go this route to get the vaccinations done as close to the lab/exams date as possible.

Of course you can get them somewhere else. all you need are the records even if you have the records from when you got them as a kid.

I agree, get them close to your appointment.

I am going to do just that. My wife is going to find out what vaccinations she needs while she is still in Medellin. The prices are much much cheaper and it will be one less thing to worry about. Thank you all for you guidence. I don't know what I would do without this site.

Thank You and Good Luck,
