Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced vacation spot in Phils where I can sit on a beach and have cheap mixed drinks brought to me for a couple weeks? Jena and I are planning a trip next year. We'll be taking our young son and probably pick up a few relatives in Phils to take with us.

I guess what I'm looking for is a place to stay near a beach with a few things to do for the rest of the family without breaking the bank.

I'd appreciate suggestions or links to threads here from people that have actually been to the places described.

Thanks!

Kev n Jena

when it comes to a beach getaway, it depends on the season, go like around July or August its a low season

You can go to Boracay Island, Batangas, and Beaches in Cebu are also great. you can check Cebu Pacific website

there are times they offer vacation package to any tourist spots around the Philippines.

We just went to boracay the end of july and it wasnt too bad except for it being windy on the white beach side. We did an all inclusive trip through travelonline.com. They have other places and packages. It all comes down to how much you want to spend. If you do a package though, add a day or two to your trip. The 3 days 2 nights was basically only one and a half days in boracay because of travel time.

Where are her relatives located? Theres lots of places and lots of coastline in the fil so it depends on how far you are willing to travel.

We'll probably be starting the trip in Iligan City, Mindanao, picking up her mother and sister, and ending it in Laoang, N. Samar where they will be staying. Somewhere in between we'd like to have a "vacation" rather than staying at relatives. Any location in Phils is possible as long as it's safe. I'm not going south of Iligan this trip.

We've been to Cebu and stayed the day a couple times on a ferry layover. The resort we went to was VERY NICE but too expensive to stay for two weeks for all of us. (4 or 5 people) One or two nights in a nice resort might be ok since Jena's little sister has never been to a place like that.

I'd rather find a person with a house for rent or something if that's possible. I just don't know much about it since we've always stayed with her relatives.

Keep in mind, this trip may fall in the Christmas season 2013. I like to plan ahead :D

I looked into Borocay and honestly, for what is cost to stay at a nice hotel (an dnone are directly on the beach), you can go to Hawaii and Hawaii has hotels right on the beach.

We went to Panglao and stayed at the Linaw Beach Resort for about $100 per night. The hotel was beautiful, the food was reasonable a VERY good, and good bar service and a nice pool. The rooms are really big and very nicely decorated. But the beach was not very nice. They put up barriers and the water is still. I understand that other places in Panglao have better beaches. I really like being in a hotel and being able to leave to doors open at night and hear and see the waves.

What is nice by Cebu? Maybe we can do the CFO there and go back to get the sticker and go to a resort. Anything really nice around $100 a night or so?

For the 3 days 2 nights we just did to boracay (we were already in the PI) it only cost 12K pesos for 2 of us all inclusive right on the beach. That included airfare and all transfers from manila to boracay.

Caramoan, Camarines Sur:Bicol. It's one of the newer areas being developed by the board of tourism. It's a place where you can Island hop to private islands. It's been the location for several "Survivor" seasons the US Version of the show will be featured this coming season if I'm not mistaken, Rooms can cost anywhere from $25 up depending on your budget, it's nice to go those areas BEFORE they become Popular.... I've been going there since I was a child and its nice to see it starting to get developed.

It is Bantayan Island and Malascupa Island. Me and my fiance went to Bantayan Island and stayed at a very nice, cheap place right on the beach. It was around 1500peso per room with breakfast. Look up Placid Beach Resort Bantayan Island.
