I just received my P4 packet via email

Email states that my wife interview will be on SEPT 14 2012 although a couple days ago my wife had taken her medical at St. lukes and she apparently needs sputum culture testing (2 months delay)

Does my wife go to the interview? or do we ignore this appointment.

by the way on 2nd day of her medical (the day she suppose to get her vaccinations) she has been sent home from St. lukes and ordered to return the following 3 days for "Smear testing" (Sputum) .my wife has also mentioned that St. likes will schedule her interview after her results.

but what about the E-mail from NVC?? HELPP

Whatever you do, simply do not ignore the interview. From browsing this forum, I've noticed that you are able to re-schedule the interview. Or have the interview and bring the medical records later. But don't just ignore it, im sure they wouldn't like that. Good luck :thumbs:

i read that the result of sputum will come out after 8 weeks if not mistaken. SLMEC will reschedule her interview. And if positive (God forbid) the delay will be 6 months. You better call USEM and inform them about it. NVC already forwarded your file to USEM.

We also have our interview date set for Sept 14, if I may deviate a bit, what would prompt SLMEC to require an applicant to have a sputum culture test? From what I understand, the results of the test (not including sputum culture) are sealed and delivered to the consulate in Manila so how would the applicant know a sputum test is required?

St. lukes will tell your applicant after her X-ray results.

If St. lukes finds something in applicants X-ray results then most likely they will undergo sputum testing.

if you passed the medical then you have nothing to worry about. good luck !

St. Luke's will reschedule the interview for her. P4 is standard procedure, the applicant is expected to undergo medical exam prior to the interview. And if there be delays in the medical clearance, St. Lukes will reschedule it for the applicant (at least for immigrant visa applicants.

St. Lukes will contact the embassy, this is what they did to my son's scheduled interview. But it wouldn't hurt if you call the embassy yourself and let them know about your case.

I thought I'd let you know..

I finished my medical yesterday. My husband called up on the seventh week and they finally told him the result was negative. St. Luke's re-scheduled my interview and the earliest date I got is Sept. 14.

Just try calling them once in a while and keep bugging them on the seventh week cause they might give u the result as early as 7th wk.

my wife just got a phone call today from st. lukes, my wife has been tested negative for the 3 day cough test (AUG 15,16,17). st lukes told my wife to call back on OCT. 17 for her result, apparantly st lukes called her today to come in on tuesday for her results, idk if its a good sign or bad sign. anyone , help? plss. thanxx

There's another thread with the same topic on this forum. From what I read if st. Luke's called you up before the 2 month period ends it usually means bad news:( but since they told her to go back tuesday instead of monday maybe its the other way around. Did you call them?
