Philippines CFO Question - timing

Hi,

I need to send my fiance to Manila to get her medical and CFO. I would like to do this in one trip.

I read that we will need to go back to the CFO office after she has received her visa to get the sticker.

So if we show up at the CFO Office with her visa, will they give us the sticker right there, or do they mail it to her (or some other form of unnecessary complication)?

One more question, what will be sent to her after the visa is approved. Does she get a visa and the envalope that cannot be opened? I ask because we need to present the visa to the cfo for the sticker correct?

Thanks.

if she have her visa in hand during the cfo seminar they will stamp the sticker once she completed the seminar, the courier will instruct ur fiance what to do with the packet what she needs to take out inside the packet is her passport so be careful with the sealed docs. or else she is in big husle of going back to embassy just bec she did something with that... goodluck

If you wanted to do it all in one trip, it would take some time. She would attend the seminar and receive the certificate. It takes 1-2 weeks usually for the visa to be delivered or available for pick up at a 2GO branch. She could then receive the sticker when she has the visa and is ready to come to the states. She would only need to present the certificate and visa to CFO before she leaves Manila. It is possible to do the CFO in Manila on the same trip as the medical and interview. Another way of doing this is attending the seminar and registration after the visa is in hand. She could then receive the certificate and sticker in one trip. Either way you do it, it is a two step process. Depending on how long you stay in Manila, you could do it all in one trip. Instead of having 2GO send it to a home address far from Manila, one could pick it up at a branch. Unfortunately, this won't happen immediately after the interview. Therefore, it adds delay to fulfilling the CFO requirements. I would consider 3 weeks to be enough time. Factor in the 2 day medical, the time it takes to forward your medical to the embassy, the interview day, the time it takes for the visa to be ready via 2GO, and the day for the CFO.

I just finished my cfo today. Give 1 day for your cfo. There might be unexpected circumstances. I was there before 7am and we finished 3pm. Got my certificate around 4pm. Please bring divorce certificate if either of you is divorced. They want to see it. Bring 2 ID and photocopy it. Your passport with photocopy. Petitioners birth certificate. Listen to counselors lecture. They will grill you like crazy and they could hold your certificate if they are not satisfied with your answer. And some were instructed to come back again if you cant show them the papers they wanted to see. They were very strict but informative. Good luck to all!

No need for appointment. Its a first come first serve basis. But you have to go there very early. Check the cfo website. You will see the complete list there. Just bring the other docs with photocopy like divorce certificate, petitioners birth cert., marriage contract, if single bring cenomar, if married bring marriage contract. For me i brought everything. Docs that i will bring to embassy interview. Some people had to come back again the next day because they were not able to provide the docs mentioned above.

I highly doubt that you'll be able to cover the CFO and Medical on the same day. If your POE is in US, you're available time is only from 9am to 3pm and only 12 slots everyday. Depends on how many will get certificate and stamps it could go pass 4pm. By then you'll be at St Lukes too late in the day (include the travel time from CFO to St Lukes, I'm not particular with the demographics). You could work your magic but that's just my estimates :)

Thanks. I just meant on the same trip because she needs to be in Manila at least a week ahead of the interview. Same day would be mpossible.

You have to take the passport to the CFO office, they will affix the sticker there, takes about 30 minutes.

The passport with the visa affixed inside it will be delivered with the brown envelope, both will be inside a plastic bag. Remove the passport.
