haha, btw, I always understood it as august filers, like in verb to file. until the facebook "roup", I understood it as "to fill". I guess both make sense. We fill and file docs.

Gesi starts his new job Monday, well he starts orientation. I decided to put my notice in and last day will be Nov 30th. We will miss each other's birthdays (both in Nov) but we will be together for Christmas and New Years. It will allow me to start submitting resumes and gather a few checks (along with him gathering a few checks) before I leave Maryland. And it's giving my boss 30 days notice.

The GC has been mailed so I am just waiting for that. Gesi's aunt told us she has a small pool house with a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom we are free to use until we find our own place. She said our bedroom is just off the back of the house and there are sliding doors out to the pool so we have easy access to our bedroom/bathroom inside as well. I've been looking at houses and omg they are sooo much cheaper than here like a 1/4 of the price of homes in our area!! I found one with a POOL, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, modest home with canal access/boat dock for $106,000 - a house here would be like 300,000+ so I am super excited about house shopping! lol

And my friend Sandy and I are ready and prepared for the storm Sandy. We will most likely lose power and some news is saying possible to be without power for up to a week or longer (praying that isnt the case) so I might not be logging on here for awhile. But once I am back, I will give any updates good.gif

[Me and hubby were planning to go to my mexico for xmas, his first time there. I was going to wait after interview (nov 6) to be sure, but it seems it should be fine, and I should have GC on time.

so after checking a bunch of prices, we decide december 8 to january 2nd. this morning we rechecked prices, some were $600 instead of $700, so we got those, I call my dad excited with the news. And I realized WE BOUGHT THE WRONG DATES!!! nov 8 to december 2nd!! AARGGHH!! We had to cancel, and will have to wait pay day or refund (whatever comes first) to get the right dates. :( yep, it was my mistake. The stupid website was pressuring me. Everytime I chose I ticket, it said. No longer available! Dammit! Anyway, I am excited that hubby will meet my country, my parents and my food! I am not a great cook, but I do much better than any pseudo mexican restaurant, and he has loved any mexican food I make him try.

You can always get a State ID and use that instead of the GC (or drivers license)

I don't. After I update social security card and DL and put it away. My job didn't even ask to see it just the A# which I memorized...:) DL is enough for identity. If someone need to know your legal status? They can without looking at your GC...

I carry around a laminated copy.

Just received my second EAD text update. How many more before it ships?

Honestly I cannot remember how many updates I got for EAD or green card. There was way more than five for each. It seemed I would get a txt every 15 mins each day any was sent.. It's crazy

~OUR STORY~

4/2012: Met online and began this cRaZY journey

9/2/2011: He proposed and I said YES!!After multiple trips back and forth.....

7/4/2012: He entered USA at LAX on B2 to visit 6 months

8/8/2012: We got married!!8/8/2012: AOS packet sent (Day 0)

8/10/2012: Packet signed for at 11:48a (Day 2)

8/14/2012: We got our txt/email notifications (all 4) (Day 6)

8/16/2012: Checks cashed.. (Day 8)

8/23/2012: Biometrics letter received via "snail mail" today.. September 7th at 12p in Sacramento CA (Day 15)

8/27/2012: Finally received all 4 NOA1 hard copies via US mail (Day 19)

9/7/2012: Biometrics completed!! (Day 30)

9/19/2012: Received txt message for interview!! October 22nd, 2012.. (Day 42)

9/21/2012: And the interview letter comes in snail mail.. October 22nd, 2pm in Sacramento..Time to get the final stuff together.. (Day 44)

10/16/3012: Received txt msg, EAD is approved and card being mailed. Right before interview and not really needed anyhow!! (Day 69)

10/19/2012: After a bunch of repetitive text messages, my husband received his combo card EAD/AP.. Of course four days before our interview!! (Day 72)

10/22/2012: Interview.. APPROVED!! (Day 75) Next journey ROC!!

10/29/2012: Green Card received in US mail... (Day 82) WOO HOO!!

~ROC BEGINS!!~

08/25/2014: Lifting Conditions Packet Mailed to CA service center (Day 0)

08/27/2014: NOA1 Receipt (Day 2)

09/05/2014: Biometrics letter received via "snail mail" Set for September 15th at 10a in Sacramento CA (Day 11)

09/15/2014: Biometric completed... now we wait!! (Day 21)

11/21/2014: Card/Document Production email received!! (Day 88)

12/01/2014: Card arrives in our mailbox.. this chapter is over... (Day 98) Next is citizenship!!
