Good Evening, Visa Journey Brothers and Sisters

I got a little hang up today with the Visa Center and I wanted to ask a question. Apparently I screwed up and did not send the original Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate. I have both. I know, I was foolish for not sending in the originals the first time around. My questions is, How much will this hold up my case? They got back to me in less than one week with the checklist and I am curious how badly this will hold me up. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Joe Kwa

Hmmmm...I don't think you ever want to mail the original but you can take it with you at the interview but never give it to them. They will not return any documents back and I'm sure you will need your original later on. Mail can also be lost, so you were right not to mail it. Maybe others can also confirm.....

Good luck!

Good Evening Folks,

This is the weird thing. I did sent color copies of both but when I called the NVC they requested the originals. I am petitioning for a CR-1 visa for my wife. She is is the one that will be receiving the visa. Does this sound right to anybody?

No for spousal visas IR1/CR1 you MUST send in originals. How long will it hold up? Who knows But It shouldnt be long. NVC process it soon as they get it. So soonest you get it to them they can process. I would say you may have lost 2 weeks time. So hurry so you can be complete to get in the interview queue. Edited by dwheels76

Giggity, Giggity, Goo!

I am going to send them via FedEx first things tomorrow morning. I have been lucky up to this point and I hope I haven't pushed my luck. It took them 11 days to process my AOS and less than one week to send me the checklist so hopefully I can keep it rolling. Thank you all so very much for your feedback. I do know what I would do without you guys and ladies

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

at the interview be sure to ask for the originals back, your going to need them later for other forms along the way .if for any reason the officer don't give you back the originals then you will need to download form G-884 you have to ask for the forms and then have the form notorized, its a pain in rear.most prople get the documents back after the interview ask the immigration officer nicely.
