Hello Everybody and thanks for taking the time to read this.

I am an argentinian citizen, living in Argentina, engaged to an american citizen. She will file a K-1 visa petition for me to enter the US and marry her. I dont feel it is safe for me to receive mail where I currently live because bad neighbors used to destroy my correspondence in the past, and I want to make sure that my visa will be delivered to a safe place where I can pick it up, for which reason I set up a P.O. Box in the post office a few days ago.

Now I am wondering this: in which of the two forms, I-129F or G-325A -maybe on both?-, should I specify my mailing address, and in which part? My best guess based on personal research on the web is that my fiancee should specify it under question #15 of I-129F ("your fiancé(e)'s address abroad") Is that correct? I arrived to this conclusion after noticing that in "part B",question #1 of I-129F form, the address information is already being requested; so I concluded that she would have a chance to write down my PO Box information on question #15, and maybe clarify on a separate sheet that I would like to be reached at such address for further mail delivery -Meaning my K-1 visa as well as that package of other important documents that I am not supposed to open but to hand to a DHS Officer once I enter the US-. Do you think that I should specify my PO Box information somewhere on form G-325A too, which is the form I have to fill out and sign?

Any help will be enormously appreciatted :)

Well I am not sure how you should fill out the form but I will tell you that I put both my physical and po box address on my I-129F and G-325A forms (I'm the US citizen) and I specifically asks them to send any and all mail to my PO Box and my NOA1 came to my physical address instead. And I called to have them change it and they said Vermont put my physical address in the computer and everything would go there end of story. I guess they don't really read any notes you attach. lol Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

You do not need to set up a PO Box. Your fiancee needs to state your real address on the I-129f. When the time comes for the interview, everything will be emailed to you by the USEM en Buenos Aires, so make sure she includes your e-mail correctly. If your visa gets approved, you will have to designate a DHL center to go pick up your package afterwards.

So, again, no need to open a PO Box or to worry about others getting into your mail. It's HER address in the US that has to be reliable.

Tell your fiancee to follow the guides to make sure you have all the information you need to file the petition.

Feel free to read the K1 in Argentina post at the regional section on VJ http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/308503-k1-en-argentina/

from our experience the postal mail really don't work with the embassy ..they will tell you they have mail to your postal but you will look forward for it and it will not be in your mail....when you guys get approved by the USCIS and you get to know that the NVC have move your package to your embassy ...within a week or or two start writing your embassy through email with your case number which will be given to you by the NVC ...and they will invite you to come and pick your package through the email address.
