My soon to be hubby hasn't got a job, and hasn't worked in 2 years. But he has recently finished a course and has a good chance of getting a job early next year. We are marrying October, and hopefully filing petition April/May 2013.. but someone said you need to meet 125% above the poverty line for the previous year.. well, that isn't gonna work is it? Who did you guys use for co sponsors? I don't even know who he could ask :( It seems like a HUGE favour..

Current and continuing income is what is measured for a salary/wage earner. If he's gainfully employed earning above the requirement at the time of the interview you ought to be ok.

And yes asking anyone family or friend to co-sponsor your love one is HUGE responsibility. But looks like you will be fine. I am in same boat.

It's not that big of a deal to ask some loved ones to help you. I am in the same position and was nervous about asking, but when I did, it was no problem. Im sure your family or friends would be willing to help you if in the future you're in need of it. Best of luck :)
