Good Day Everyone,

My name is Abdul and i am being invited to the US by my American friend who is also a mother and guardian figure. She is 68 years old. I am 22 years old, an enterpreneuer and a blogger. My American friend wants to invite me to the states this September, she will want me to meet her Family and grand kids, experience life in the US and show me around. She's taken interest in my writing skills and knowledge about world issues (my blog is about world politics).

I will like to know my chances of getting the B2 Visa and what is required of me relating to financial proof. She is going to sponsor my trip from providing shelter to my plane ticket. I will like to know if there are other necessary documents to take to the interview which i havent booked yet.

I have knowledge about the following required documents ;

1. Letter of Invite.

2. I-134 form

3. Details about my trip.

4. Evidence of Plane ticket booking.

5.Passport.

Kindly advise as to other required documents or tips that will help me. Thank you. I Look forward to a good response.

Have a great weekend.

Typically the proof is needed from the visitor that they have ties to his or her home country and that they need to return following the visit. Proof would be a letter from a job or a school or property owned.

An invitation letter from your friend stating that you will be staying there is good. Nothing else is needed (or matters) from the person you are visiting.

You need to show strong ties to home.

Where will you be having the interview?

Thanks for your responses. My only strong ties to Ghana is my family and small business which doesnt rake in huge net profit to make my bank balance look good.

I will be having the interview at the Embassy inside the capital Accra.

Does it mean the I-134 form wouldnt be necessary ??

I saw a thread about a sample invite where there was two letters. One addressed to the one visiting and the other to the Embassy. Does she have to send me both invites or forward that of the Embassy to them.

Kindly Advise.

Thank you

Let us know how it goes.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
