I will have my 3rd year here by Oct 23 and I believe I can file now for my citizenship based on spouse of US citizen. But my question is, if I file now, how fast is the process till interview? I'm pregnant right now and my due date would be in Dec. Do you think guys, I can get my interview before thanksgiving? I am thinking of having my oath after I give birth.

It depends upon the individual USCIS office. In your case the Chicago office has been taking aobut 5 months from NOA to Oath.

Even though USCIS website shows 5 months as the processing time, this is a general estimation that is acceptable nationally, to get a more closer and accurate time frame, search for members who have the same office as you, and track their progress, recent filers will give you an excellent idea about what to expect.

You might want to check JUNE filers thread, I remember some were in IL (they are moving fast and got interview date in August already) but can not remember exactly the office if its the same like yours.

Hope that helps:)

Yes you can file. As you within the 3 month window before your POE date.

Wifes POE date 08/24/09

We filed N400 5/25 "Dallas" just got notification "On July 26, 2012, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling."

So,,, we will see. However, keep in mind. You can reschedule any portion of the process, fingerprints, interview and oath ceremony. So,,, if the

pregnancy becomes an issue for any date, you have options.

Also,,, if you search VJ for "N400 May 2012" people are tracking their status by filing location. This might give you an idea as to how it might apply

to your situation.

Regards,

cd

Hi batchmate...Yes, us K-1'ers file for citizenship in the window which is three years from the date on our green card minus 90 days. You are in that window now.

Thanks guys! I will send my package as soon as I get my tax transcript. I will be an August filer maybe.

I hope everything goes smoothly and quickly for both you and Chinook :)

Yeah, hopefully, I got rfe in our removing, was partly our fault since I didn't include our tax return. I was surfing around vj for the process, and it seems I can have interview before thanksgiving. I am just worried for the interview schedule since my due date is December, I want to avoid rescheduling. I am just waiting for our tax transcript and I will send the package. My husband wants me to file now. Hehehe.

Goodluck to Chinook.

I have to ask, in my wife's case we got married in March 2010, GC issued 10/04/10... We have our NOA1 on the ROC's... When can we start the N-400 process, 3/13 or 10/13???? She actually arrived a few months before we got married, is it POE or wedding date or GC issue date that the clock triggers off of????? Thanks for your responses!!!

Hello,

you count 3 years minus 90 days (if based on marriage) from the date she was resident which you indicated 10/04/10

so, 3 years would be October 04, 2013,,,and you can file 90 days before that date, so you earliest will be July 6, 2013-------------its always preferable to apply just a little bit below 90 days to make sure it wont be returned, so July 15 2013 and up would be a time to file whenever you want.

Hope that helps

It is the Resident Since date: 10/04/10 on her Green Card.
