If I get married in September, then I will not be able to leave the USA while filing my AOS. Can I petition for advanced parole to visit my family in my home country for Christmas? Or is this only for emergencies?

AP is free and routinely approved for everyone filing AOS. If you file in September, you might have the AP by December. It takes about 90 days to be approved.

You don't pay for AP I said it was free. Right there, see where I said it, right up there? More correctly, the fee is waived when based on a pending I-485. (That means free for you).

When you apply, just like for the I-129F petition. I urge you to budget $1070 out for it for soon after your fiance arrives here. The sooner one can apply for AOS, the better.
