I have read a few topics on here that Guz will deny your visa if you have spent less then one month together. I have spent 7 days with my fiance after web caming for 6 monthes. Her interview is aug 14 and I will be with her 3 weeks at that time aug 7 - 26. Im a middle class working dog and dont have a lot of vacation time. She is worried that we will be denied for not enought time togeter.

Is this a well founded worry or not?

I am geekette, and I want to make this story to be more detailed. Here is what I found from other person's comment "From what she told me, Guangzhou is one of the hardest embassies, they give blue papers to most. Main two reasons being not enough time spent together and the other being financial evidence. They require 3 years of tax returns... And for time together, most likely need at least 1 month together in person. " So I am just worried for blue slip, but I also know blue slip is not end of the world. Just wondering whether somebody experienced same situation with us or not, and maybe can find some solution from VJers.

I don t think there is a rule of how much time you spent toghetr . iT S IMPORTANT to meet at least 1 in the last 2 years! Goodluck :) Don't worry !!! Im very sure is not gonna be a problem!

Thank you. Maybe GZ consulate has so many rumors there. I think only thing I can do is to tell VO that we would love to stay together for one month, even one year; however, the reality is we have to work.

Did you have a traditional engagement and/ or wedding ceremony? That can make a difference.

I have not heard of any time limit, and requirement is that you were with each other once within the last year.

I am in the same position. I am a working dog who was unemployed for part of 2009 and we had to postpone my planned visit to China to meet again after first meeting in 2007 because of this.

Now that I am working again my vacation is limited.

We visited to a full two weeks and of course Skype before and after, you will be fine.

Sorry, but this sounds like a bit of rumor-mongering going on. :secret: Agree with big dog.

We met for 14 days in Oct 2011, 10 days in Feb. 2012, and 7 days in June 2012 (all evidenced by passport stamps, boarding passes, receipts, photos), and daily Skype chatting. We were blessed with the multiple opportunities to spend time together. Hey, we are both working to make a living. I submitted 3 years of tax transcripts, W-2s, and 2-3 recent months pay stubs, 30 (+) photos, etc.... It was my feeling that if I was able to front load the data, hopefully it would result in success.

As I mentioned in my recent consulate interview review, my fiancee went to her interview at the top of her game (it was her birthday). I helped her prepare by asking her possible interview questions. She took a folder with about four inches of documents/evidence to the interview in anticipation of any CO requests. I had prepared an EOR letter, that I had folded lengthwise, and inserted into my passport ( un-notarized, but in Darnell-style). My fiancee presented that to the CO at the beginning of the interview, as a sign of my presence in Guangzhou and support of my partner at her interview. He didn't ask for much, other than to view the photos, and some questions about our relationship. The visa application and documentation likely pointed out the direction of his line of questioning.

It is the completeness and strength of the entire visa application, in concert with a good consulate interview that will likely result in a favorable outcome. As the partner of a recent successful visa interviewee (check our timeline), I would recommend that you do your homework and take care of your own business; avoid listening to rumors, that can drive you crazy! :wacko:Support each other as best as you can, that will likely illustrate to the CO the condition of the relationship.

YMMV,

Good luck on your immigration journey.

A/B did it themselves in the beginning without VJ, and was successful. Lucky for him he researched both USCIS and later VJ to keep on track. Follow his example and you should do fine.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Thanks for these making sense replies. I think every case is different, and VO will judge case by case. Also some body get blue slip with reasons. but if these reasons are not put into a context to consider, and when it spreads out, this reason will become “rule" for blue slip.

best evidence is pictures of couple together with bride's parents and extended family.

could be banquet, or wedding party, or some other event.

the more pics in different places with lots of family, the more confidence in GZ.

GZ understands "face", and knows nobody wants to loose it.

cash investment not important. family investment critical.

We went out for dinners with my family members many times, and took some pictures. We also short travelled to other cities for sight seeing. I hope GZ VO is very professional, expert to read "face", like "Don't lie to me" that guy. This will be good, as the real liars can show who they are. Now I am very busy for my job here, and my fiance asks me many times to cut off my jobs. My only concern is how much time I can get to prepare for this important interview. Anyway, appreciate opinions from VJers.
