Alright,

Who is still waiting for Packet 3? or for Ciudad Juarez to finish processing?

We are still waiting for the famous "processing"

Thanks,

Ernesto

I also called NVC and they informed me that Ciudad Juarez has the electronic copy, but have not received the "paper copy"?!!!!

Does anyone know how that works? CJ tells me one thing(that they are processing our case) and NVC tells me the above. Please help....

Thanks,

Ernesto

Ernesto,

I think this is what they always say. The NVC knows nothing until the letter has been sent out from Juarez. Several of us called the NVC on a Thursday and the letter was sent out the day before. My advice is don't call Juarez anymore and waste your money. Just keep calling the NVC. In fact call tomorrow afternoon...you never know you might hear some great news!

After receiving the visa and going to the bridge, do they have to cross over? Or do they just get the stamp and can go back to their house for their things and cross say in Laredo?

When I called Juarez, I asked them the question about what PoE would be once visa is received......all I got was that the officer will give you instructions if any once you get the visa....now it is immigration's problem to deal with.

Hope that helps....that is what I was told.

Thanks

After receiving the visa and going to the bridge, do they have to cross over? Or do they just get the stamp and can go back to their house for their things and cross say in Laredo?

My understanding is that you don't need to stamp anything right after you get your K-1 visa, once you get it you have 6 months to cross at any POE you want and only then your visa and the DO NOT OPEN yellow envelope (that came with your visa) will be stamped.

:star:

Ok, I just heard people talking about goint to the bridge in Juarez and having to get it stamped.

Thanks

That is my understanding too. We hope that Roberto gets the visa by the end of this week but he will not come to the US for several more weeks. So he is not going to the bridge.

Genny

Good luck, hope everything goes well :)

Thanks Sandi,

In other words, does NVC have access to the same information that Ciudad Juarez does? And so, NVC should be able to tell me if Ciudad Juarez has sent out the official letter/package 3? Ciudad Juarez keeps saying "Being Processed" and NVC just told me yesterday that the physical copy has not reached Ciudad Juarez yet. But you are right, I hate to be wasting money on bad news.

Take care,

Ernesto

Can you guys chat?

It is my understanding as well. You should only get your visa stamped if you are READY to use your visa. If you do not plan on use your visa right away then the bridge information does not pertain to you. Once we receive ours (hopefully soon) we will go back to his hometown for a week and then enter through Laredo. Hope this helps

Andrea

Hello Everyone:

We are supposed to call for our new appt in January, does anyone know how long of a backup there is for the Fiance Visa when you are returning after a 3 year ban? If not, is there any way to find out this information?

Thanks,

J&E

Janet, I am sorry I really don't have an answer for you. Most k-1's are taking about 4-5 weeks to get processed at Juarez. I remember reading your story. I am so sorry and I wish you the best of luck.

Andrea

thanks

The NVC kept telling me that, too. then 2 days later they said they sent the letter the day before. They have access to Juarez apparently. Don't waste any more money. Like I said before, call tomorrow afternoon and see what they say. Do you know when your paperwork got through NVC and sent to MX? :time:

We are here. Victor the taxi driver that Sandi suggested picked me up at the airport (it went smoothly and he only charges $45). We are at the Holiday Inn. Roberto wanted to go to the clinic today but he got here at noon. You can only go to the clinic between 6-11. We just ate next door at Barrigas, that food isn't bad but it is a little expensive.

There are two clinics. One next to Wendy's and another one. One is called Examenes Medicos Consulares and the other is called CME. Does anyone recommend one over the other?

We are going to go to the clinic tomorrow at 6:00. We have heard lots of people here in the lobby that have been waiting for days for DHL to deliver the visa. I sure hope we don't have to wait too long.

Please let me know if you have an opinion about which clinic to go to.

Hi Genny glad to see that you made it ok and that Victor helped you out. I alwats have heard good things about him. Can't give you an opinion on the clinic. I hope the wait is not too long for the visa.

Good luck and God Bless the both of you!

This morning we went to Examenes Medicos Consulares. We got there at 5:00 and there was already a big line. While we were waiting representatives of the Clinic came through the line and looked at the papers and assigned Roberto a number (he was 37th because most people in line were there with their families). I couldn't go in with him to medical so when he got up to the door at about 6:15 I came back to the hotel. We heard they don't give the results until this afternoon. I'll keep you posted. We have been walking back and forth between the Holiday Inn and the other places close by. It is very close and convenient to stay here.

Hi Genni!!!

Glad to read you made it with no problems ...

Remember the picture I posted here? I went to that clinic (blue sign on the picture) service was good and quick and in case you can not make your examination there they send you to the other (which is close to the old consulate) but you don't have to pay taxi because they have a bus to take ONLY the person who will be extaminated and when finish, same bus takes you back ... go to the one next to the hotel (CMI brown building)

Keep us updated!!

Oh, forgot to tell you ... they have room service from applebees and other restaurants, cheaper and better ... ask the recepcionist she/him will give you a list.

Roberto just got out of medical it only took 1.5 hours. They do it all in Spanish, they take blood, It cost $181 dollars or $2400 pesos. At the entrance it tells how much each vaccine costs they were all over 300 pesos. You don't need them for K1 (of course) but we had considered getting them here. And he had a female doctor. They asked him CONSTANTLY if he used drugs. And he has NEVER used drugs but they kept asking in different ways.

It was so fast! He gets his results at 2:00.

Sandi

They speak spanish, but for example in my case my bf does not speak spanish and that information was on our file so the Consul asked how we communicate ... that was a red flag for him so he asked me to continue the interview in english.

He wanted to clear that red flag but don't worry if your bf needs a spanish interview, consul will ask.
