arrange private transport and you'll be fine.

Do you mean call one of the taxi's that are allowed to go to the El Paso Airport? Or do you know another way to arrange private transportation?

Hi Genny:

This is the service I am going to use http://www.tcnusvisa.com. His service has a very good reputation.

Congrats epifreak!!!!

After all that stress before and during the interview and finally being approved I got back to the hotel to take a nap. When I woke up it was around 2 and I checked the DHL website and to my surprise the VISA was ready and waiting for me. I just got back from going and picking it up. I'm just so surprised about how lightning fast the interview and getting the visa was. The medical was another story but whatever it's done.

To answer some of the recent questions.

They are still not using the DS-160.

They did ask me for the DS-157.

At the clinic you can pay with pesos or dollars for the medical exam.

For the visa fee at the bank you have to use pesos.

Regarding the questions about the interview. It's pretty much what everyone have posted. In my case it was very fast. I think it was that fast because we sent a huge I-129F that the interviewer was reviewing. The only thing extra he asked were pictures. That was my case, either way come prepared with lots of things.

Cheers everyone and good luck!

Here someone who went in May was asked for the DS-157.

Whew, thanks Andrea,

Roberto and I just filled it out over Skype. Recently all of our dates are over immigration forms. How romantic :)

Yeah, it seems like immigration issues is all we talk about lately.

Sorry, I realized my mistake after it was too late to edit.

immigration issues are all we talk about lately.

One quick question is everyone using Holiday Inn Express?

Hey guys,

Have you received any update on your Ciudad Juarez processing? No package yet?

I will be calling today to check on ours.

Keep us updated. I guess you have decided to go sometime November...it might be the same thing for us.

Thanks,

Ernesto

How long does it take for Ciudad Juarez to process and send the official letter/packet 3 info?

When you call Juarez, they usually say like 3 months, but I know it is close to 1 month....is this true?

What have you guys been getting?

I am about to call the consulate today anyways....I just want for them to give us the green light/get done with processing.

Thanks,

Ernesto

I think they say 3 months just to cover their butts. I think 3-5 weeks is a reasonable expectation, however I did have my congressman inquire, and I'm not sure how much influence that did or didn't have.

I received a copy of the letter (doesn't have a signature, but I don't know if it needs one) at my house in the US, Alejandra hasn't received her copy yet. It basically just points you to the consulate website anyway.

Does that help?

Hey guys, just wanted to let ya'll know that my SO and I went to Juarez without the appt letter. I called on Friday Sept 18th and they said they finished processing our paperwork and that they would send a copy to my attorney etc. I repeated what she said just to make sure I had heard correctley and she said yes, you can come to Juarez. So I hopped on the bus and left for Mexico on Friday. We letf from Monterrey on Saturday night and arrived on Sunday afternoon. We checked into the hotel and around 6:30 the next morning we left for the information window at the consulate. I was so nervous that the trip would be for nothing. That they would tell us...sorry you need to wait til the appt letter is mailed to you. But no, they gave us a copy. I don't know why more people have not done this. it was such a relief and I was so excited :)

Hope this makes the wait a little shorter and best of luck to everyone :)

You guys were very brave to do that I think!!! :)

We are just waiting for the letter to come in...or at least I will call today to see if Juarez has finished processing..

I will keep updating this.....it is very interesting, but we hate to wait.

Chinman how long did it take for the letter to be delivered to your US address? in other words from when the consulate sent it to when you got it in the mail.

I dont think we want to go to Juarez if they say it is still processing........if they say "no" once there.....I would probably die if i say goodbye to my fiancee for the 5th time.....it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your support guys!!

Hang in there Ernesto,

Juarez finished processing ours after one month and a day. I got the letter here in the US two weeks later. Roberto still didn't get the letter. We are going to Juarez on Wednesday. I'll make sure to keep everyone posted on how things go.

i've been rechecking my documents daily, it's driving me nuts!!!! We're going to practice asking her to hand me documents from a folder with dividers so she can easily find what she's looking for....

i was thinking the copy of the letter i got didn't have a signature on it, but neither would one that is printed, so we should be able to use the one they sent me. If not, can you get one printed AND do the medical in the same day?

Yes you can. There are several people in this forum that have done just that including Margaret (delci06). She got the letter early in the morn and then her SO was in medical by 8:30 am. I am sure the letter they sent to you (and the one they sent to me) will work just fine. When I called Juarez I asked them what would happen if the letter never arrives at Roberto's house and she said "that is why we send it to you too."
