PACKET 3 CIUDAD JUAREZ HELP!!!!!!!!!!

So i got my NOA2 for the K-1 visa on june 20th 2012 and got my case number from NVC, i called the visa hotline to see if juarez recieved my petition and see when i could make my appointment. I called 4 times and spoke to 4 different people and they all told me a different story. One told me my petition arrived on monday, another tuesday, another said monday, etc.

Also when i asked them about if i needed the so called "packet 3" which is just a letter that gives you directions on how to set up the appointment, some said you do and others said you dont, all they needed to know was if they see in their system that juarez sent the letter they could set up the appointment.

On my last call, i requested a supervisor because i got really annoyed with all the different information they were giving me and the supervisor told me they recieved my petition on jul 16th and that it would take 1 to 2 weeks for the letter to arrive at my house but it could take longer. She also mentioned that when they see in their system that juarez has sent that letter to me, i can go ahead and make the appointment, even print out the packet 3 from the consulate website.

So my question(s) is:

1. Do i really need that letter? Ive seen people post on here that they have gone to juarez without it like this person from this link, review #9862 http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Mexico&page=1&dfilter=5&topic= I also ask because i see the "packet 3" on the juarez website and in that letter it doesnt say at all that you need it to get in. it would save us time and i just want to be with my love really bad =(

2. Has anyone or know anyone who has gone to juarez recently without that packet 3 or letter? And if so, what did they need to set up the appointment and what did they really need to get in the consulate?

3. How long does it take for this letter arrive? I live in tijuana, BC

You need to get your CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID # from the NVC before you can fill out the DS-260 by calling 603-334-0700

Juarez will send the USC and the beneficiary in Mexico a letter. Sometimes the letter does not reach the person in Mexico because of the crappy mail system there. If the only one that receives it is the USC, it can be mailed or scanned and emailed and printed out by the beneficiary in Mexico. It does not have to be the original.

The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You should go to the links listed in the letter(which I am posting below). Yes, the letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-260. The review you posted a link to does not say the letter was not needed. It says they never got the letter before their appointments in Juarez and had to go to the consulate information window to get the letter before going to their medical and appointments. It is needed, everywhere you go there.

I agree with the above. You have to call the 603 number and get the CDJ case #, invoice #, and beneficiary ID # for the DS-260. I got the letter here in the US 10 days before my wife got it in Mexico and they were sent on the same day. You do need the letter. Some people claim to have never gotten it and pulled a lot of strings at the consulate in Juarez in order to have a copy printed there. You will get it soon. Calling the consulate is useless. I did it many times and each time was given a different answer. I even asked the guy once if my wife would get a letter in Mexico and he said they don't send them to the beneficiary in Mexico, only the petitioner in the US. Then we both got one. Just stop calling them because they will tell you so many different answers it will drive you crazy!

Thx for the replies guys =) I already have my CDJ case number but they didnt tell me about my invoice or beneficiary id number, they just told me that i need to contact the consulate for further info. i will call nvc tomorrow morning and ask them for that info and keep people posted so they are not as clueless as me lol thx again guys

i also saw from the juarez consulate page that if you do not have a NVC invoice # you can use your date of birth as a subsitute, is that true?

Descuida, cuando llames al NVC el empleado te dará toda esa información referente al Invoice # y al BeneficiaryID#.
