Consulate Review: Juarez, Mexico
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 23, 2012
Embassy Review : I just got back from juarez and THANK GOD MY VISA WAS APPROVED =) =) =) =) =) here goes my review and i hope it helps you guys out:

I checked in at La Quinta Inn hotel(the staff is very friendly and helpful, hotel is secure and clean, room for 48 dollars a night which includes king size bed, microwave, fridge, desk with leather chair, cable tv, great ac) and its about 15 mins walking from the consulate and 2 mins driving there. The hotel also provides a shuttle to the consulate, clinic, and ASC center ever half hour from 6 am to 2 pm.

I arrived to juarez on monday and had my ASC scheduled for tuesday at 2 30 pm. At 6 am tuesday morning i headed over to the Clinic Medica International and there was already a line there but not too long. You first go to the receptionist and she checks your documents(YOU MUST HAVE PASSPORT, ASC CONFIRMATION PAGE, AND THE CONSULATE LETTER) then you go over to a window where they take down your information and give you a bracelet with a barcode on it that will be repeatedly scanned for throughout your stay at the clinic. First i went to the section that said LABORATORIO and they verified my info and took a blood sampe from me. then i did the eye exam, then i had to go do the physical. The physical they make you undress down to your underwear( i kept my socks on and the doctor had no problem with that) then the doctor performs the physical. And yes, she did tell me to drop my boxers down to my knees and inspected me front and back but she didnt touch me at all. Then she asked a series of health and medical questions, like any chronic diseases, any meds im on, any history of cancer or serious diseases in the family, did i do or tried drugs, etc. Then she told me to put my clothes back on except my shirt and to wait in the hallway. Next they took xrays and then i could put on my shirt again. from there you go back to laboratorio and do a urine test and in my case i didnt have any urine in the tank so i they made me drink water and wait until i was ready to go. after about 40 mins, i finally needed to pee and gave them the urine sample. next I went to the area of vacunas because they print out a receipt that you need in order to pay. Since K 1 doesnt require vaccinations, they quickly printed it out and i went to pay. lastly, the person at the cashier register asked me if i had done my psycholigical exam and i said no and she told me to go to the psychology area. KEEP IN MIND FOLKS DO EVERYTHING FIRST BEFORE YOU PAY OR ELSE THEY WILL TURN YOU BACK. so the psychologist asked me different questions just to probe my mind but nothing too special. depending what you answer depends on what kind of questions follow and how long it takes. finally at 10 30 am i was done with the medical exam and they told me to pick up the results at 2 pm.

I went back at 2 pm and the results were not ready. I stayed there until it closed which is 4 pm and i didnt get my results because according to them my psych results were not in yet. i got angry because we were ordered in a list to see the psychologist and i was the 3rd person to see her and the 2 ppl infront of me got their results and also 2 ppl after me but i didnt get mine. my consulate interview was at 7 15 am wenseday but they told me the results would be ready by 10 am. they told me to go the appointment any way and show them my receipt of the medical exam and they will give me a pass to do the interview later the same day. at 2 30 pm i did my fingerprints which was very quick and simple(THEY ASK FOR THE DS 260 CONFIRMATION PAGE, THE CONSULATE LETTER, PASSPORT, AND THE ASC CONFIRMATION PAGE)

wenseday i go to the consulate and you first are sent to the sala de espera so they can check your documents(AGAIN PASSPORT, DS 260, CONSULATE LETTER, ASC) and they stamp your papers then you go the consulate. at the consulate they again check documents and i told them about not having the medical exam and they told me to come back later when i had it. i went back to my hotel then i went to the clinic and finally at 10 20 am they gave me my medical exam. DO NOT OPEN THE MEDICAL EXAM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE FOR IT CAN VOID YOUR APPOINTMENT. i finally checked in at the consulate at 10 33 am and got my number. after about 2 hours, they called my number and i got a very nice lady who checked all of my documents, made me sign the ds 156 and ds 156 k infront of her, she took my passport and original birth certificate and told me to wait to be called again for my interview. about half hour later, i was called and i was a nervous wreck. the consular officer was very friendly and we conducted the interview in english. the questions he asked are as follows: full name? DOB? when did you meet your fiance? when did you propose? can i see your IFE? when did you get it? when was the first time you entered the USA?( I lived in the US for 16 years, my parents took me as a baby and we entered legally on tourist visas, i went back to mexico at the age of 16 and since then ive been living in mexico, never tried to go back and we never got flagged by INS or any law enforcement agency in the US) when did you go back to mexico? did you have any problems with the law in the US or mexico? any problems with immigration? when did you propose to your fiance? and then the magic words.....YOUR VISA HAS BEEN APPROVED!!!!!! I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy and i thanked him alot and he told me that my visa would be sticked onto my passport and would arrive in about a week, could be sooner or a little later but about a week. WORD OF ADVICE: BE ABSOLUTELY TRUTHFUL ABOUT YOUR LIFE, THE TRUTH DOES PAY OFF, I WAS TERRIFIED ABOUT BEING DENIED FOR OVERSTAYING IN THE US AS A MINOR BUT THE TRUTH PAID OFF AND EVERYTHING WENT WELL SO BE TRUTHFUL AND IT WILL WORK OUT.

I hope this review helps everyone out and if you have any questions feel free to ask
