well yes of course but what if it were incorrectly filed in?

another question: does age difference matter? she is older than me - around 10 years.

I am not sure what you mean, but your official date of birth is the date which is on your birth certificate, and presumably in all documents you possess, including your passport. If the date on your birth certificate is incorrect and you wish to change it you need to correct it immediately and have all other documents corrected so they all how the same DOB, lest your application falls into the endless cycle of RFEs....

Age difference does not matter in principle, but it represents a red flag, in some cases. However, if your relationship is legit you need to be worried about it too much.

thanks.

yup, relationship is legit :)

could I also ask what is RFE?

RFE stands for Request for Evidence, and is a generic term for 'you missed something', 'you forgot something' or 'we need some explanation on something'. It is a way of the USCIS uses to tell you your application process has stopped pending action by the petitioner or the beneficiary.

If your DOB is not the same in all your documents, from birth certificate all the way to your passport, chances are you will find your process being stopped at some point.

i understand.

lets just say that she thinks im 2 years older than my DOB. but i think we all do that when you are dating.... especially women! :)

If the beneficiary cannot give a correct age when asked at the interview, that may cause doubt in the CO's mind that the relationship is legit.

This is a serious undertaking. Time to come clean to your SO and do some preparation.
