Contacting a congressman 3 days before the 5 months mark?

We contacted our congressman today and we have 3 more days till the 5 month mark. Do you think this was a mistake?

We thought about it but with Vermount's speed things were not looking good for us so we decided to try.

It felt good actually, finally doing something for a difference =/

However, they took our details and advised us that they will get in touch with Tim tomorrow. Fingers crossed that we hear something else rather then - wait some more..

VSC's I-129F official processing time is 5 months, where are your 6 months coming from?

Congressional inquiry may help or not, but definitely won't hurt.

And if it made you feel good, that's most important.

it'll take time for the non-disclosure packet to be signed, so don't worry about the 3 days.

well our congress person sent us an official letter from the USCIS stating that even though the processing time they claim to be is 5 months, they still have 30 more days from that day to process your petition and they cannot do anything until you hit 6 months... before you hit 6 months, according to USCIS, you are still within processing time! That's where my 6 months are coming from... they are also coming from all the people who rang USCIS in the past few weeks and been told the same... As long as the OP feels good that's the main thing, it's good sometimes to be realistic though as most of us who wait almost 6 months now weren't and now it causes a great disappointment and a total breakdown!

Just to clarify, it shouldn't do any harm that you contacted the congressman, there was one person claiming that it might slow your petition down but I think it was just a rumor
