I have russian citizenship but my daughter due to some complicated family issues only has a passport from Kazachstan. I can't get a russian passport for her as her dad would not consent to it, he wants her to have kazachstan passport. my fiancee is about to file I-129F for me and my daughter. Are we going to have issues at the interview in Moscow since we have different nationalities? what can we do here to avoid issues? anybody had a similar situation? thank you so much!

If you can't get the father's consent, you are going to have some more troubles down the road.

Good luck!

i understand that, but what about the issue of various nationalities. what happens when i go for an interview and get a visa, does my child have to go to kazachstan to get one? what are the logistics? this is so confusing

I assume the child is legally in Russia?

Interviewing with you as fine, provide a letter from the birth father allowing the child to move to the US

Good luck

yes, child is legally in Russia. just doesn't have russian passport. will the russian consulate be able to put a 2-K visa stamp in kazachstan passport if we are approved at the interview?

It's the US embassy and yes they will be able to put a visa into your daughter's passport even if it is from a different country than yours or the embassy at which she is interviewing. As long as it is her legal valid passport, no need to worry about it or try to change it.

Good luck!

Hello,

Hope it will helps but

1- russia gov doesnt accept double nationality except for some people born during the ex urss and depending countries. When accpeting new nationality , russian citizens must abandon their russian nationality. I know some russians keep their passport when getting a new nationality but it is act illegal. They can go to jail if catch at russian airport except if law has changed in the last two years.then sorry.

2- y will need to get father consent plus a copy of his passport/ id if y want her to get a visa.

Note that for obvious reasons, u cannot get anywhere without his consent... Too many children traffics and children kidnapped by force i suppose.

The fact that y are from two different countries shld not be a problem until y get the right docs and letters.

Are the child parents were married and divorced then?

Hope it help.
