I am a naturized US citizen and I filed a visa petition for my spouse. She is to go for an interview soon but I need help to several questions. How is the nature of the immigrant visa going to look like? What are the possible questions she should be expecting for the interview? Also my present spouse have the same first name, day and month of birth as my devorced ex-wife. But the last name and year of birth is different. This is really a gunine case but I am sacared that the consular officer will think I married the same lady but we just did change of name. I got married to an American citizen during my first visist to the United States and she filed for me but we got devorced after one year of stay and I went back to married my present spouse. In total, I have devorced twice and married three times. But my first and present spouse has the same name as discussed above. Will the consular office not think that I was trying to get around immigration when I married the US lady and that I have gone back to married the first lady I devocred? This case is really gunine. Please helpe me, as how to overcome this question if she is asked in the interview. Do you think me traveling to be on the interview will help?

WOW this is a unique story. All your wife can do is answer honestly. You ask would being at interview help? Are you as the citizen allowed in the embassy during interviews? Most do not allow. Questions can vary but since you laid out your story I would think questions would be along the lines of your married, divorced and went back and married the same first woman.

I am sure your wife if asked can clear up any confusion. Did you by chance write any letter of explanation to the twice divorced 3 times married? well please keep us posted.

**Note- think like the CO what questions would you be asking you?

So now that you understand, will there be any problem form the CO.

i would be ready to discuss the marriages. you cannot control how the other person (CO) views your marriages/divorces from the visa submission, but you can be ready to answer any questions that may arise.

i would not worry too much about this i think.

I see no problem. Long as your wife can explain any question it will be good. Relax. Honesty and confidence is all she needs.

You mentioned you changed your spouses name . What does her birth certificate say ? The name change could be seen as an attempt to hide something and create more questions than it prevents. I assume you naturalized after 5 years and are outside the rule of not being able to file after getting a green card through marriage to a USC ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I did not change my spouse name. My ex-spouse and present wife have the same first name, day and month of birth but different last name and date of birth. My question is, will this not be a red flag? Will the CO think that I went back to married my first wife and I manipulated on her name. My case is really true but you know these CO have thier discissions but I trust in the Lord for favour and that my spouse will get the visa.

Needless worry I say. They have your wife's birth certificate and your divorce decree. If the have questions they will ask her to clear it up. Just tell her to be claim and when asked answer its real simple. She knows she isn't the first wife so what's the issue.

I would not worry about the name. You have different birth dates and last names. It shouldn't matter. They might take a closer look at the divorces, but just answer honestly if any questions arise.

As for what else they will ask her, possibly what her plans are when she arrives in the US, where you got married, what day you got married, where you live, maybe date of birth, stuff like that. They only asked us maybe five or six simple questions and gave us approval.

Best of luck to you both!

Can someone please help me with this, my step-son who is included when filing for my spouse has to go on an interview with her mother, he is only 2years plus old. Her mother did not have her original birth certificate so she went to birth and death to get another certificate in our country. But for thier interview, the NVC is requesting for us to provide the original of his birth certicate on the day of interwiew. What shall we do when the brth certicate we presented at the time of filing was taken from the birth and death office but now the NVC wants us to present the original or certified copy. Can we go back and request his birth certicate to the hospital he was born? If yes if they give us, the serial number, stamp and signature will be different from the one we original submitted which was given to us from the birth and death. Does this raise a red flag? please advice I am worried. I am deployed here in overseas serving in the US military and I am so lonely here and wants my wife to join me, you know how difficult it is to be alone. Please advice
