Chances of the rejection should not be very slim, provide the supporting document as letter from medial facility, which should show the day your BF was diagnosed with Cancer and the treatment he will be going thru.

If you are ready to get married and would like to stay besides your BF thru the recovery, get married and file for the AOS and include documentation to support your reason and you should be good.

Thank you!

This gives me hope.

Do I have to worry about when we get married and when we send in all the paperwork? I read something about a 30/60/90 rule, but I'm not sure.
