If you are going to be married in Gambia you will most likely want a CR1 visa which is a spousal visa, not a K1 which is for a fiance coming to the US and then marrying.

I just went to Gambia in February and married my fiance there. My advice would be to do your research on this site as there are papers you will need to take with you to have your spouse complete while you are there, this will help speed up the process. You will need to get passport photo's of your spouse while you are there too. Make sure you take lots of photo's of the two of you together and your ceremony. Keep all your travel receipts and documents. We were able to add me to my husband's bank account while I was there too. We also got signed affidavits from my husband's family and friends who attended our ceremony. We just had our ceremony at the court there in Banjul. I did a lot of research on this site before I went to make sure I could get as much completed before I went and while I was there as possible. If you still have questions though, you can always ask on here. Good luck!
