The website at the IRS allows you to request tax trancripts. But the ones the IRS sends are not certified.

Do they need to be certified? So in that case we can't use the online link available to request them and use form 4506?

Anyone presented the transcrips without the certification?

Thansk.

IRS transcripts are official. So no need for certification. Just order them online.

You don't need to certify them. It's an official document from IRS.

The main reason here on VJ we recommend using the tax transcript verses copies of the tax form is that the tax transcript is what the IRS received from you. It is an official transcipt of all the information you supplied and they accepted. Hard to fake. The USCIS takes the transcript because it is an official document from the IRS. No need to certify it. I have used the transcripts for the visa stage and the AOS stage and have not had any problems and they were not certified.

Good luck,

Dave
