Will his KI VISA be denied due to Infrequent visits?

Hello,

My original plan was to take another visit to Africa during the week of his interview; but because of a some issues that come up in my family here at home, I no longer have that option to visit him during his Interview. So I worry that because we don't have sufficient in-person time spent, they may use that against us. Please give me your input on this... Will they deny our K1 VISA since we only had a 1 week in-person visit last year and not anymore since then?

Sorry to hear about that. Not really sure if the trip for the interview will have any weight except for giving your SO some physical support.

Have you only met him once?

Hopefully something will come up and you'll be able to go.

Before I had my interview, my fiance had visited me only once, and we spent together only 10 days. About one year after our first meeting in person, I had my interview. A few days after that, he came to Brazil so we could travel to the US together. Have seen each other in person only once was never an issue and they never brought that up in my interview. I say, do not worry about it. Meeting once in person is enough, and providing them with good proof that your relationship is true. Just make sure your paperwork is all OK, and everything will certainly go alright. Ok? (PS: It's very often cases like this, where they have seen each other in person only once; after all, it costs a lot of money to travel to another country!) Good luck!

If you are going through Lagos , one one week visit is risky at best worse if you have other red flags such as different race.

We're both black. There's no red flags that I can see; but of course, I don't know what else they're looking at. Can you tell me of some? Thanks.. :)

And also, MANY (most of them?) people here go to their interview without their fiances/ees. You really don't need your fiance/ee to be present at the interview.

Okay; Thanks :)

You didn't say which country in Africa but your timeline mentions Nigeria so I assume you will be going through Lagos. Lagos is tough as hell to go through and wants lots of visits.

Is there any age difference ? Are you beyond child bearing age ? Have you met his family ?

It could be very tough for you without another visit. If I were you I would do whatever it takes to get another visit in.

As mentioned you should have proof of meeting family and friends. You are hopefully of the same religion and educational backgrounds.

I've met his siblings, we're both in the same religion and active in it, we're both college educated and both have professional jobs. Our biggest weakness is the short visit and for only 1 time.

I'm a few years older than him, but "Yes", I can still bear children and I have met his siblings.... I will be disappointed if I visit him again and they still say "No". I may consider changing my petition to "Spouse" if they say, "No". Give me your oppinion on that. Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by changing your petition to "spouse" but you could certainly start all over with a CR1 (spousal visa)

petition but you can not "change" the K1 to a CR1. I would not worry about starting over but get in another visit and be there for the interview.

Although we do have the same educatonal backgrounds, I was thinking the same thing.... How would they judge? What would be the issue with different educational backgrounds?
