I am new to this website and i am trying to seek some help.

I filed for my mother and my brother back in febuary 2012

to petition for both my mother and my brother

a week later they sent me a letter saying both they had been

accepted and sent to the CSC.

Now 4 months later i got an email and text on june 15 2012

saying i was sent out a RFE on my mothers case.

I am impatiently waiting for the hard copy to arrive and its

almost a week.

I wanted to know if someone can tell me what a RFE could be about

i sent everything they asked me to with the application

and i dont recall messing up on anything.

i also wanted to know if i needed to send our birth certificates

translated in English since we were both born in El salvador

they are in Spanish.

I am an American Citizen for 10 years now and this is the first

time ever petitioning for someone!!

please help me, it will be greatly appreciated thanks

I sent my mom's and my birth certificate from El Salvador because i was also born over there, but i didn't send them in English.

I had gone to my immigration office to ask some question on how to file and fill out the right way, the man never told me to translate them or notirize them.

Hi there, that could be the RFE....You should send a translation for every single document that is not in english but don't worry that you will be okay...get those translations ready to send to them!Did you send prove of citizenship?

I did. I sent a photocopy of my certificate. Both birth certificate, the app and the money order.

How long do u think itll take for the decision to be aproved???

a copy of your us passport bio page, get the birthcertificates translated to english,it's hard to keep guessing just wait until the rfe letter comes and what it ask from you to send,

i finally got the letter in the mail and it is exactly what i thought it was going to be!

now a few more questions???

it only asked me to translate my certificate not my mothers

should i do it anyway???

Translate both and send to them....at this time better be safe than sorry again!! :bonk:

You will need your mother's translated for the interview only. Not for the approval. You should have your mother file for your brother when she gets her green card and withdraw the application you filed for him. It will save you 7 years because he's a minor.

i just thought the process for minor brothers and sisters took a less years
