Although his son Rand has endorsed Mitt Romney, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) said Tuesday that he has no plans of doing so himself.

“Well, it looks like he has the delegates, yes,” he told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “But he doesn’t have the control of the hearts and minds of the people.

“And right now, a lot of people — a lot of delegate who are pledged to vote for Romney are actually very strong supporters of ours and will be strongly supporting us when we want to put things into the platform to say, hey, we don’t need another war,” Paul continued. “Yes, we do need to audit the Federal Reserve. Yes, we ought to really cut spending.”

“I take it you’re not yet ready yourself to endorse Romney, are you?” Blitzer asked.

“No, not really,” Paul responded. “No way.”

I am glad to see that he intends to battle Romney over their official platform! Romney seems way too ready to go to war with Iran and renew a cold war with Russia! An anti-war plank would help shine a bit more light on this!

Conservative Gay-Rights Group Endorses Romney

The board of directors of GOProud, a conservative gay-rights group, voted Tuesday night to endorse Republican Mitt Romney for president, citing his economic positions while noting its differences with the presumptive nominee on gay marriage.

“Most gay Americans, like their straight counterparts, are not better off than they were four years ago,” Jimmy LaSalvia, GOProud's executive director, said in a statement. “The truth is that gay people are living in the disastrous, failed Obama economy too.

“President Obama and his friends on the left want this election to be about divisive social issues, because the president’s record on jobs and the economy is indefensible. At this critical juncture, we need a president with the experience and expertise to turn this economy around. Someone who knows how the free markets work. Former Gov. Mitt Romney is that candidate.”

LaSalvia noted that the group still strongly disagrees with Romney’s support for a federal marriage amendment outlawing same-sex marriage and wants to see “bolder” action on tax reform, entitlement reform, and spending. Two board members did not vote for Romney, including Christopher Barron, a GOProud co-founder who supports former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson for president.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
