Married 3 month after official divorce

Hubby was separated when we started dating in 2009 and never cared to file divorce papers (until he decided to propose)

He finally proposed 11/2012 and surprised me he had finally filed for divorce, he officially divorced 12/2011 and we got married in 3/2012.

We have Lived together for over 3 yrs and have everything to prove it, will his recent divorce interfere in any way in our AOS application/interview?

What kind of questions will IO ask at interview?

from someone else's personal experience no it will not

he did the legal thing which was to get divorced first and then he got married to u

the IO will question PERHAPS a few things abt his marriage (these questions will be asked to him) but thats a big MAYBE

so all I can say to u is gather all ur evidence have it ready and be honest and open and also do not give out too much information at ur interview .... say only what needs to be said.

They might ask about it especially if they don't bother to check the separation date. We were asked several questions as my divorce was finalized 3 months before remarriage. If you have honest answers you should be fine.

He never submitted a separation date (he wasn't aware he had to) so he just gave any date the day he filed for it.

I think he said 2010 because they filed taxes together for yr 2009. I'm not sure

He says he wrote the same date he filed for divorce he said he never thought it was important. now what?

You can explain it to the interviewer. It's not the end of the world but if it looks like he was living with you while married to someone else & that you got married quickly after he separated, I would be prepared to explain.

Don't panic too much. You can explain during an interview if you have one (what visa are you adjusting from?) Evidence of a bonafide marriage is good. Again, the way the paperwork is written out may not look great but it's not something that can't be overcome (if in fact your IO pays attention at all).

Ah, ok - in that case you will definitely have an interview & be given a chance to explain. You posted in the AOS from family visa (k-1 & k-3) forum, where people are following a slightly different process, so I am going to request that a moderator move this to the proper forum for you.

Not every state requires a legal separation period, I wouldn't sweat it.

I put that because there is no right case option for me. I realized t this a VISA JOURNEY and definitely I did not enter with a visa.

Maybe I'll just delete my account.
