Hi guys

I just paid my visa fee, I only have the interview left to do now, but the advisor told me processing takes about 2 - 4 weeks before they even allocate an interview date.

I know from other forums that the interview could even be 4 weeks after that letter. I can't bear another 8 week wait :( I have my wedding planned for August 21st and I don't want it being that tight!

Does anyone know if these are just standard timeframes they tell everyone or are they very realistic?

Hi, when I paid the visa fee a few weeks ago, they told me to realistically expect an August interview date. Did you send the DS-2001 and cover letter to the embassy? In the cover letter, you can advise when your wedding date will be and I've heard that people have success in getting an earlier interview date.

I know there's delays right now with the olympics, but it doesn't hurt to try.

My Fiance (now husband) paid his visa fee. We were sitting chatting a two or three days after that, he decided to go check his mail at 10pm at night and low and behold he received his interview letter! And, his interview was only 4 days away ! It happened fast. He lived in Germany. So, I think the timeframes on this site are just an average but they are close. The time lines on this site are closer than the US Goverment time lines.

thank All,

I'll go check out the UK subforums.

Yes I sent a cover letter stating I have all my documents ready to go and I am available for last minute cancellations. I also advised them of the wedding date.

Thanks.
