Front Loading on a K-1 Application

The Philippines is considered a high fraud country. Therefore, showing evidence is crucial that you have a legitimate relationship especially for I-129F and I-130s. I am hoping to get feedback if people here front loaded or not. The success of the application. Of course, this assumes a lot of factors. So is front loading a good idea?

My entire application was 24 pages. I got an RFE because 12 of those pages were my Divorce Journal, not a one page Divorce Decree. So 13 pages would have done it. I met Emely through here sister who lives near me. I proposed on my first visit. Visited again before the RFE was received. And have proof of that trip. I'm leaving a week from tomorrow for the K1 Interview. you don't need to have a lot of documentation. Give them what they ask for. don't over load them. But have a real relationship. DON"T lie about anything. if you do you're hosed. So from my experience, you don't need tons of papers to prove your relationship. Just have a real one, and I suspect things will work out fine.

The evidence we submitted for meeting within the last two years was 5 pictures, some ATM receipts, my passport stamp, and one boarding pass (I lost the other).

We saved all the evidence of a relationship for the interview, where it was ignored.

We had zero problems, except for the long wait.

Again well said. collecting 100's of pages on either end is a complete waste. If you have a real relationship and meet the guidelines, they are barely going to glance and the proof of relationship. If it makes you feel better to print 100's of chat transcripts, send 30 or 40 pictures, journal etc, then go for it, but it's a complete waste other than making you feel better.

...but it's a complete waste other than making you feel better.

And if you overload the USCIS, you slow them down getting to the next applicant, and I don't know any of us who wouldn't have liked to get OUR paperwork processed faster. innocent.gif

My entire application was 10 pieces including the check and the application as 2 pieces of the the 10. 2 pages were prior divorce decrees. I might do it differently if I did it again, but pretty much everything was 1 or 2 pages. I did not submit letters of intent, although I did mention in my cover letter that we planned to marry within 90 days of her arrival. There was no letter from her. We were approved without RFE. I had only 1 visit of 9 days to the Philippines prior to submitting our petition.

I'm not saying it was the right way to go, just pointing out that more isn't always necessary.

I personally did front load my petition.I front loaded using quality over quantity if that makes sense.Below is what I did and have used many times over the years to help my first Filipina wife, her friends and family doing there K1 visas. All were successful with no RFE. I'm not sure if front loading helps or not. I feel comfortable doing so, and I make sure not to go overboard. I find more pros than cons in doing so.***Optional requirements are marked with ***

$340 Submittal Fee- Check or Money order made out to U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Cover Letter

If applicable- Copy of final Divorce Decree/Annulment or Death Certificate for the US Citizen and/or foreign fiance if either has been previously married and marriage ended due to divorce, annulment or death. Include for all previous marriages.

Triple check everything for mistakes, signatures, dates or any discrepancies. Answer all questions, put None or N/A where applicable. If necessary add attachment to any question where you need more space.

Make 2 extra copies of entire packet. I like to scan and make a digital copy of entire packet. One for your records/safe keeping and one that will be sent to your fiance before her interview.

NO!

For the I-129F I sent only what was required, plus copy of my passport with stamps showing travel to the Phils, receipt from hotel and travel and 4 pictures of us together. For sure front loading is not needed.

Ya but you live close to the service center and they didn't want you coming over "to have a talk with them" so they got your petition done quickly.

Thank you guys for the input. I decided to front load with reasonable amount. However, I did not include the ongoing relationship because some of the photos are from last month's visit. I think that qualifies to some extent ongoing relationship.
