just some questions running through my head....

i've been reading a lot here and seeing a lot getting deneid because of some bonafide relationship, my question is, how much the CO needs to see to beleive that you have a bonafide relationship, i mean most people here bring money remittance, skype logs, facebook chat logs, snail mail, emails, phone call log, bills. skype pictures, what else is needed?

is being with her/him at the interview makes a difference? i mean as having a bonafide relationship? i know in the philippines you can have your petitioner with you during the interview so any advice/help/suggestions?

thanks vj

what else is needed? read the K-1 Guides

This is only part but documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years

Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps.

It is the totality of your petition not just the bonafides

documentary evidence? i've been knowing her since childhood, then i came to u.s. 2003, visited back to philippines after my high school dec 2007-jan 2008, i hve my passport stamps but no pictures of us together, then i went to college, got married here dec 2009-aug 201, finalized the divorce aug 2011, went back to philippines aug 2011 and met my fiance again, and we got engaged. lots of pictures. my question is, we are not that long in our relationship and after my divorce i met her again and got engaged, and filed for k1, i just want to know for thos who have experience if being there with her during the interview will make a difference as in having a bonafide relationship.

Lots of things are taken into account by the CO during the interview. If you are there it would probably help. WIth a relatively short engagement, since August, there will be a bit more burden on you, and having just divorced as well. You will need airline tickets, hotel receipts, anything to help show that you were there to visit her. Photographs, preferably some with her family and friends, not just the two of you. From a variety of places. You will need phone records, skype chats, emails, letters, anything to show an ongoing communication. Luckily Skype keeps that history. If you have any bills or accounts together, that will help too.

Really there are no rules. You need enough evidence that the CO doesn't suspect that you are faking it.

Walking there with 3 photographs and 2 emails is sure way to get denied. But walking in there with 100 photographs and 1,000 emails is too much too.

For our case, for our initial petition, I sent in copies of my flight info, tickets we both used to fly to Hong Kong, hotel receipts, we opened a bank account while I was there, so we included statements from that. I chose about 15 pictures to include.

Or the interview we had all that, plus I had been back there two more times since, so we had lots more. She brought about 20 different pictures, and those were actually the only thing they looked at. But I think in our case, I had front-loaded the petition with enough, that there wasn't much the CO was doubting.

They never looked at the Skype chats I printed, our phone bills, etc. They only looked at my tax return, and glanced at some of our pictures.

Unfortunately, no one can tell you the correct amount of evidence to bring. But better to have prepared too much than too little.

The petitioner being at the interview is usually a good thing to show an ongoing relationship. The interview is months later after petition approval by USCIS. USCIS adjudicators will likely be looking for evidence that is dated from two years prior to filing of the petition, not before. They won't be interested in your past history, except that you are free to marry at the time of the petition filing. If you don't have the necessary evidence to submit with your petition, you will likely not get to the interview phase without having the adjudicators reject your petition or issue an RFE, due to your lack of meeting the initial requirements of the visa.

Good luck on your visa journey.

YMMV

The rule in general is.You and your fiancé(e) must be free to marry. This means that both of you are unmarried, or that any previous marriages have ended through divorce, annulment or death. You must also have met with your fiancé(e) in person within the last two years prior beginning the K-1 Visa petition process

Document that evidence (i've been knowing her since childhood)

(and met my fiance again, and we got engaged. lots of pictures)

Add the decree to your paper work (finalized the divorce aug 2011)

I was not at my wife's interview, and made no difference on the bonafide relationship. It is the totality of your petition not just the bonafides of the relation.

Quick question.. Do I need to include relationship evidence (photos, tickets etc) in the initial I-129F package? I have read conflicting info.

You can front load it if you like.
