Anybody been watching The Good Daughter on GMA with the wifey? I'm learning Tagalog so i can't pick up everything yet, but i love this show! The first time i had to watch it was right after me and Monreal's battle over the remote control. I was defeated. But i still have my dignity. I ended up liking the show though.

Dude you let a woman hold the remote in your house ??? :help:

No have not seen it. How is the Tagalog coming. I hate to invest the energy, because my wife and almost all her friends speak Cebuano unless the one Tagalog friend is around then they speak Tagalog.

Yeah my fiance doesn't want me to learn Tagalog to much. She only wants me to speak Bisaya/Cebuano, because that is what they speak where she lives. They only call it Cebuano on Cebu, everywhere else calls it Bisaya. Where is your wife from?

Lol! Aww, but that is sweet of you...

So sorry... my fiance would have been able to relate, but he's stuck with me at the 'Kapamilya' network (ABS-CBN)... he follows it through my stories. Monreal's choice (The Good Daughter) belongs to the rival network, 'Kapuso.' (GMA) My fiance actually got me an infinity ring for our anniversary-- just like in the Teleserye "Walang Hanggan" (Without End), which I like. Cheers to Cheesy!!!

I watched it with my wife on my last trip in February, and yep, I hate to admit I liked it too. My wife said the last episode was last Friday. I'm looking forward to getting those channels on my dish when she arrives.

Right! We have a TV in the bedroom with the same channels and i did that on purpose before she got here so that she would have a comfortable den to watch her Tagalog TV. If she is watching TV in the living room, and i go into the bedroom she will follow me in there and take over the remote there to. #######! Its okay, i have a shed in my backyard that i have a TV in. She's not allowed in it. Only me and my Son are allowed in there. :)

Tagalog language is coming along good! Its actually fairly easy to learn. I am able now to have an elementary conversation with her father. I probably could be alot further along by now but i have been working alot to prepare for our trip back to the phils in october.

Monreal is from an island off the Eastern Samar Providence called Tikling. They all speak Waray there. I will tell you from a little bit of experience. It would be easier for you to buy Rosetta Stone Tagalog and learn that first. That is what i am using and it is amazing how much you will learn in a short amount of time. The majority of the folks in the philippines speak tagalog being that its the national language. The older folks out in the providence may not speak tagalog very much, but you would have better chances being able to communicate with them in Tagalog than in English.

I can't wait to speak Tagalog fluetently. I am going to chew out the custom agents everytime i arrive for trying to tax me for everything i own.

Monreal watches "Walang Hanggan" as well! She has TFC, ABS-CBN and GMA. The only shows i watch with her right now is The Good Daughter and Legacy. I have watched a couple episodes of that kid who is a mermaid but not really interested.

For some reason our DVR didn't record the last few episodes, but i hope the B!tch gets caught at the end. The only thing i didn't like about the show is that Bea is a little ##### and never stood up for herself. All she ever did was cry like a little kid.

They try to tax you there when you arrive in the Philippines? When I first arrived there in Manila, I had brought some things for my fiance, including a new camera. So like an honest person, I declared it on my customs form, assuming I would have to pay some tax. I arrived via Philippine Airlines, which arrives at Terminal Two. When I got to the customs line, the guy looked very annoyed that he had to stop his conversation to look at my form. Then he chewed me out for listing it. He told me not to do that again, because then he is supposed to charge me. Then, he just changed my custom form to 'no', nothing to declare, and with an annoyed wave of his hand, sent me on my way.

Yea i had to pay a tax on my video camera that i was bringing back with me. The stupid customs lady asked how much i payed for it and then said i had to pay 20 american dollars. I paid it to her and then watched her put it in her pocket. I wanted to punch her face and then watch her nose bleed but i used better judgement.
