so my lawyer had ineed sent my aos packet but didnt let me know *Question?*

So i posted about on how it had been 3 months and my lawyer hadnt sent in my aos. Well he finally called me tuesday and surprisingly let me know he had already sent my aos 2 weeks prior. I was so excited i totally forgot what other questions i had in mind. My checks havent been cashed yet so id like to ask you guys if your lawyers gave you guys tracking numbers for your packets? im just so skeptical especially sinse he takes forever to get in contact and hell be out on vacation for 2 weeks. Is it important for me to get a tracking number or can i call uscis to see if they received anything? When can i expect something if 2 weeks ago it was sent? Thanks everyone.

April , 2001: American born father filed I-130
May 22 , 2012 : Lawyer sent AOS
June 10, 2012 : checks cashed
June 11, 2012 : NOA's arrived
June 13, 2012 : Biometrics appointment arrived for July 5th
June 19, 2012: Succesful walk-in at Bellflower,ca office
July 25, 2012 : First card production ordered text/email
July 30, 2012 : second card production ordered text/email
July 30 ,2012 : Third text/email approval notice sent
July 31,2012 : Fourth text/email usps reported it picked up email
Aug 2, 2012 : Fifth email USPS has delivered your new card at address on file
Sep 7,2012 : Text notification update: On September7th we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for October 10,2012!!
Sep 10,2012: receieved interview letter in the mail for October 10 at LA field office!

May 6,2013 : Recieved email I-485 approved

May 10,2013: card document production ordered/ received Welcome letter

May 16,2013: Received Green Card in Mail!

Never used a lawyer because they are not reliable and not needed for the process.

But if he sent your stuff 2 weeks ago like he said he did. He should have gotten the NOA1 already and your checks should have been cashed.

Your case number will be on the NOA1.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Never used a lawyer either. If you look at my timeline in my signature it did take them over 2 weeks to send the email and text they received Pui's paperwork. If you can try and get a tracking number. Good luck.

AOS Journey

11-04-2011 sent AOS to Chicago lockbox

11-07-2011 delivered

11-08-2011 Date on text messages but did not receive until 11-22-2011

11-23-2011 Check cashed.

11-25-2011 Hard copies of NOA1s

12-06-2012 Pui's Brother unexpectly passes away and we make an info pass appointment and receive an emergancy AP so she can return home. Pui leaves for Thailand for 2 weeks.

12-06-2012 Get a text message and email that she received an RFE

12-12-2012 RFE for original birth certificate. I swear we sent it along with a certificate translation of it.

12-20-2012 Pui returns from Thailand.

12-21-2012 We send the RFE back for with original birth certificate along with a new certificate of translation(I had to wait for her to return for her to sign)

12-26-2012 text and email they have received the RFE.

12-29-2012 Appointment for biometrics is 01-23-2012

01-13-2012 AP is approved.

01-23-2012 Biometrics appointment. Later during the evening the text and email saying the EAD is approved.

01-31-2012 EAD/AP combo card arrives.

05-22-2012 Email and text card is in production!

Knowing the tracking number doesn't help much, I assume that all the mails will be delivered to the lawyer's office?

You can't do anything without those letters.

Day14--2012.05.22 Biometrics Appointment received. Scheduled for June 5th.

i used a lawyer

and so far i have had NO PROBLEM

they have made it very easy for me when I was building my AOS packet

and explained everything in detail etc...

I have no regrets using one and paying the price cuz its been very beneficial :thumbs:

March 19th - received NOA

April 13th - Biometrics

May 03rd - notified of interview (06/13/2012)

May 06th - received interview letter in mail

May 11th - received notification of EAD card in production

May 19th - EAD in hand

May 23rd - Applied for SSC

May 29th - Received social security card in mail (card in hand)

June 13th - Interview (approved on the spot)

June 13th - got notification of approval

June 18th - Card in production (also received welcome letter in mail)

June 21st - Green Card in hand

End of this journey....

I used a lawyer, I paid them directly and they paid the fees from their accounts. And they always took at least a week to cash the checks (regardless of when they paid the fees)

I frequently made calls to NVC, sent emails, etc, myself without contacting the lawyer.
