Good morning,

I've done my search on what documents to bring. I believe they are expired GC, NOA1 extension for one year. I have a question on the passport. My wife still has the original passport from the philippines. It won't expire til 2013. Does she need to replace the passport and change the last name to current married last name? Also do we need to report marriage to philippine consulate? Thank you in advance.. Please list documents used to travel back to the philippines... We just dont want to be stuck with the philippine immigration..

Sorry I don't have any experience with the Philippines. That is what she would need to get through immigration at the airport in USA. You would be best off asking your Philippines question in the regional forum where people have experience of the immigration policies there.

Just to be very clear on this point. Her travel documents must match her government issued ID. So her airplane ticket MUST be in the name on her PI passport--i.e. maiden name if I am reading your post correctly. Since the GC is in her married name, most people recommend bringing along a copy of the marriage certificate so they can make the connection between the name in her passport and the name on her GC. International travel is always done with a passport and she needs to follow the visa requirements of the country she is visiting for someone from the PI. The only thing the GC does is lets her back into the USA without a visa (and it may make it easier for her to get a tourist visa to some countries as a US GC holder verses a PI passport holder only).

Have a good trip,

Dave
