Hello there, my father who is a US citizen petitioned for me (daughter)

I had my immigrant visa interview on the 9th may at the US embassy in Accra.

When I got called to the go to the counter, the consulate asked for my documents and pictures. I didn't have enough pictures so she said I could go take some round the corner from the embassy and return with them asap. I took them and came back after 10mins or so. I got called to go up again for my final interview with a different consulate, she asked me where my DNA results were without checking the packet the NVC had sent which contained DNA results and originals of documents such as tax return, birth cirtificate, and police report.

After asking me a few questions she gave me a white slip 221g temporary refusal requestion I bring 2 documents and told me to return on july 25 and to bring with me my original birth certificate and tax revenue. But my problem is that all the original documents have already been sumbitted to NVC so I'm very confused on what to do. I think a very big mistake has been made on her part!? HELP ME PLEASE

Dont panic and just follow what they tell u to do... If u have submitted original BC then u again submit them another original BC...u must have more copies of ur BC. Regarding Tax Revenue it must be latest tax returns from the petitioner for year 2011..u can ask ur dad to send it and then u can submit the Embassy the requested docs..

Can u please post here what questions did the Consular Officer ask u during Interview...??? Since u must be applying under F1 category so pls post the questions asked to u during interview...

Ghana is very picky, just provide what they are asking for, even if they already have it. I would suggest too getting a few extra copies of your BC for when you move here. It was very helpful for us to have extra TYPED certified copies.

Everything that had been requested was submitted to the NVC, my interview letter stated not to bring any documents that had already been submitted to the NVC, only to bring medical results, pictures and the interview letter.I took photocopies of my birth certificate and tax revenue (do you think this is what caused the mixup) Embassy in Accra are requesting original documents? How can I get original documents if they already have them . Thankyou

As others have suggested, get NEW original BC and tax transcripts

As for others

1. NEVER send originals to anyone for anything. A COPY is all that is needed, except for the interview, then bring the original and another copy. They will review them, return the original and keep the copy

2. NEVER go to any interview for any purpose without ALL the original documents and a copy of everything ever sent to anyone in the process, no matter what the letter says. This is why. They can ask for anything they want. Be prepared.

Thankyou for your advice. Wish I knew this from the get go. Isit possible to request an earlier date for me to submit the documents as I want to travel as soon as possible? Thanks x
