Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

My bad.

Which brings up another point....why is DOS more efficient in doing background checks than USCIS?

Because their checks are more superficial. Whenever a visa is issued, the DOS

system automatically checks the name (and now also the fingerprints) against a

(subset of a) federal database of international terrorists and criminals, but they don't

check other databases, e.g. the nationwide criminal database (the NCIC). Then

there are the Visas Mantis and Visas Condor programs which are intended to provide

additional scrutiny for visitors who may pose a security risk. If flagged by any of

these databases, the system requests an SAO (security advisory opinion), which

may involve input from several federal agencies (including the NCIC), but in most

cases it doesn't happen.

Ah, isolationism, nice idea. Carry on.

The fact is...even though Britain is largely an Anglo country, through immigration it has a number of jihadists that are citizens. We managed to capture some of their citizens fighting for the Taliban and Al Quaida already.

Maybe it is the right time to think about the implications of allowing their citizens (or any other similar VWP country) easy access into the USA without a more thorough examination by our own government. And that means each and every UK citizen, ethnic Anglo or not.

Upon further reading, it appears that Mr. Barlot was a Muslim convert.

But the USA can. We can end this ridiculous and dangerous VWP that allows Britain and other countries' citizens to travel to the USA without a visa or official scrutiny by our government before they arrive here. Treating Britain as if only ethnic Anglo citizens are traveling to the USA is not very prudent in the post 9/11 world. It wasn't even prudent in a pre-9/11 world.

That will never happen - as it will kill the US tourist industry. Not to mention "reciprocity".

How about sovereignty? I would prefer that to the "we are the world" "let 'em all in" concept of open borders anarchy that a flakey adolescent would advocate.

When was the last time you made multiple copies of your house key and gave them out to strangers on the street corner? How about along with a note of when you will be away from home? You wouldn't do that? Imagine that! Well I guess you are an isolationist too.

I merely stated that under the present circumstances it might be prudent to require more scrutiny of foreign nationals entering the USA. That is a far cry from sealing up the border 100% and letting no one in or out.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

I agree that ending VWP is a good idea as far as US national security is concerned,

but the question is whether or not it outweighs the additional costs and inconvenience

that would result from its elimination. It would most definitely lead to a major

decrease in tourism to the US from Western European countries, if not end it completely.

Another factor to consider is visa reciprocity -- if the US were to end the VWP, the

27 VWP countries could do the same and start requiring visas of US visitors.

When travelling to Australia one can apply for a visa online. It costs about $14... At least this way it gives the government that extra layer of protection yet is still quite convenient for travellers..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

England is becoming as english as Uzbekistan.. With that in mind the US is not far behind.

Basically the countries are losing their identities to accomodate others.. With that in mind, of course the US should rethink their VWP policy..

No one is blaming immigrants. Many people have realized that an open policy on immigration can lead to big disasters for a society. I.E E.G France..

You can't blame multi-culturalism for social problems without blaming the immigrants themselves for "refusing to assimilate".
