Does anyone have advice for how to get in contact with the "right" people at the NVC? I paid the Affidavit of support and IV fees for my husband at the end of March. We then notived that his case had been routed through Accra, Ghana (where he lives). He was born in Nigeria and is a Nigerian citizen. We decided we would like to have him interview in Nigeria. On the advice of someone who dealt with a similar situation, he emailed the NVC asking them to change his case to go through his country of birth (Nigeria). He included a copy of his biographical page from his Nigerian passport. On Monday, I got a letter asking us to update his mailing address in order for his case to go forward. His mailing address is the same as it was before. The same address they have on file for him. I called the NVC to clarify this and inquire about transferring his case to the correct Embassy. The lady I spoke with was under the impression (based on a note someone else had put on my husband's case) that he wanted to interview in the Dominican Republic. How they got to that point, I have no idea.

Meanwhile, our daughter's case has now landed at the NVC and is routed to go to the Lagos, Nigeria Embassy. When my husband sent an email as he did with his case, stating that she is a minor child and that he is her father, asking to name me as choice of agent and address, they responded that they cannot process it without the approval of the petitioner or the beneficiary. Anyway, I have a bunch of questions I need real, definitive answers to...not just "I think if you do this, it may help" as I got the last time I called. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When you call the NVC ask to speak to a supervisor. I had several mistakes at the NVC level on their part. If one is not available, ask them to have one call you back. The only time I ever got correct and definitive answers is when I spoke to a supervisor. When i talked to the other people I could call 10 times and get 10 different answers. Hope this helps and good luck.
