I'd like to accompany my fiancee on her interview and fly home with her, but my leave time is limited from my job. Is it possible to pick up an approved K1 visa directly from the US embassy in Manila? If this is allowable what is the typical processing time before it is ready for pick-up following the interview and what is the procedure for requesting this service?

If you are eligible for a K1 or K2 visa, your passport with the approved visa will be delivered to your designated delivery address at no additional cost. The Embassy uses a guaranteed courier service to handle visa deliveries. 2GO commercial courier is the new Embassy's authorized courier service provider for the visa units. Delivery should be within two weeks from your visa issuance. Applicants also have the option to pick up the visas at any 2GO branch.

According to the Manila K-1 instruction packet, you have the option of having it delivered or you can pick it up at a specific location. I have read that the wait time is less if you opt to pick it up at a 2GO location. Otherwise, it would be at least a week or two for it to be delivered to the beneficiary's address. I don't believe it is possible to obtain it directly from the embassy per the instructions mentioned.

Thanks ToddnJessa. I read that as well but I have also seen consulate reviews where pick- up requests directly from the embassy were honored. I am looking for somebody with detailed information regarding these requests. As for the two week delivery statement I have also read about visas being delivered well beyond even the three week mark. Best of luck to you on the K-1 process!!

You're welcome. In our case, we will probably pick it up at a 2GO location. I understand it can be in limbo past that 2 week mark too so I don't want to really risk that. I did read that exceptions can be made due to merited circumstances. However, it is very unclear how those circumstances are defined. I would contact the embassy directly. Hopefully, someone that has successfully done this can provide you feedback.

You really won't save much time if any, we scheduled to pick up the visa at a 2G0 in Makati only to find out from 2GO later that office had been closed. 2GO delivered it to the house.

Time frame? check my signature out.
