The embassy won't know anything yet - they will only get your entire file if your expedite is approved (or once your case is complete). You need to keep calling NVC until they tell you what is happening with your expedite. Call every day.

What are you looking for? An NVC expedite means that your file got expedited processing there (at NVC), not all the way through the chain.

Your file got a push at NVC, now it's on to the embassy where it will be reviewed. Your file didn't get put on some fast track to bypass all others. That's not how the expedite works.

Yes, the embassy makes the decision but the embassy will not communicate with you until they have your file (unfortunately). You won't be in their system yet. They only have your request. Until they have your actual file, you need to deal with NVC.

Actually, what he did was request an expedite right on through the NVC process. This is what I just successfully did for various reasons. What happened was, NVC first sent the request to the embassy. The embassy had the final say whether or not they would grant the expedite request. The incomplete file was then sent two days later to the embassy once the request was approved. The embassy was responsible for gathering any remaining documents and payment. However, I had to deal with only NVC until they said that my file was sent to the embassy. From there, I could only deal with DoS until the embassy contacted me.
