N-400 FILERS - MAY 2012

I submitted my criminal background checks (in lieue of the fingerprints that weren't readable) at the Boston district office on September 6 and was getting concerned because I had not heard anything regarding the next step, my citizenship oath. However, on the weekend, my status changed to "in queue for citizenship oath" on the USCIS case status website, so things are moving slowly but surely. Won't be able to vote, but hopefully the appointment will be in the near future.

Happy Monday morning everyone, I was able to open a service request this morning!!! Hopefully that will get some movement on my case! Now its waiting for 15 day to lapse to see do I get any response.

After SR are done responses come. That happened to me during the I-751 and last september for the n400 when on the 20 of september I have made one and in OCT 10 I was changed to inline....

And so the status of my application has changed.... "On October 24, 2012, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled." Some news, finally! But it is tough to be patient when there is no movement on one's case.

My status changed today as well, hopefully the notice will come in the mail today or tomorrow. No chance of taking the oath in time to vote though.

I noticed it takes about three to four days for those USCIS letters to arrive. I expect mine no sooner than Monday or Tuesday, right in the middle of the big rain/hurricane that is in the forecast for next week.

Wow, your letter arrived so soon. Things in Queens happen much, much slower. Sorry that you have just missed the voter registration deadline.

GBN (Lisa), did you manage to register to vote yesterday after your ceremony? How was your ceremony?

I actually didn't. There was no one there to register with. By the time I found where to register it was too late. But its okay I guess......we all know that no matter what with it without my vote NY is always a democrat state. Guess I'll be voting in 2016

CONGRATS!! I think I will call USCIS tomorrow and ask whether my oath ceremony has been scheduled and for when. With Sandy on its way, there will be delays at USPS and also the letter may end up being "kidnapped" by the wind from my open-top mailbox!! :blink:
