I passed my interview today, It went smoothly, here are the questions I was asked:

- What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?

- What is the economic system in the United States?

- Who is in charge of the executive branch?

- If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

- There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

- What is one reason colonists came to America?

Now I have to wait for the oath letter, the officer told me that there will be a big ceremony on 09/11 and probably that will be my oath date

Congrats. I do hope that you get your wish for 9/11 as the Oath date. I will have my interview on that date also.

I passed my exam too! :) Unfortunately they interviewed me after they'd done the oath ceremony for the day, so I'll have to wait for the oath.

The most difficult bit was probably proving I was still married to my wife - we don't have a shared bank account, but I brought a Life Insurance document, our shared health insurance, a payslip from my wife and few other documents to prove we lived at the same address and were married.

Questions (in order I can remember them, we went through them pretty quickly):

  • What is the name of the national anthem?
  • What happened on 9/11?
  • What is "rule of law"?
  • Why does the flag have 13 stripes?
  • What is the ocean on the West coast of the US?
  • How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?

Nina,

Did u receive an email / text or did u get the interview letter directly without any notification.

I got my letter yesterday for interview Sep 12 with no notification. On the website uscis.gov still says that I was placed in line for interview which I found a bit weird. But Im glad I got the interview letter with no problem =)

Congrats to all who have successfully passed the interview and test! My husband was in and out of the interview today in about 15 minutes. They told him his oath ceremony will be Sept. 14th. Unfortunately I am traveling for work then and will miss the whole thing. But, at least he will be a citizen and we won't have to worry about USCIS anymore!
