I guess you don't have to but I am crazy like that and I was calling when I got back to the states. I don't have the number but it's on the DOS website and you can ask to talk to someone about your case status. They will need your CSB number and names and DOB's. I just called to see if the checks are clear cause if they are they tell Casa and Casa should issue the Visa unless they issue more checks. That way if DOS says it's clear you can email Casa and ask them when they will issue it since the checks are done at DOS. K good luck,

ps. I called and they said the checks are "cleared" so that is how I knew we might be getting the visa very soon. (right after 4th of July)

ok, just called... checks still pending but she said it looks good tho! i was confused b/c she first said it was for him and his children - i said no, it should be just for him. nonetheless... still pending!
