Hi to all

I have just got back from visiting my girlfriend in the states, i was there for 2 weeks and am planning on going back for 3 months.

I will be going back in 5 or so weeks. I'm using the visa waiver program and am just wondering do many people get denied access with this method?

I have no intention of working there and i will be staying with her. I will have to leave my job here as 3 months is too long to take as holiday time.

I also do not own any property as my job supplied a house.

I'm from New Zealand, i don't know wheather that makes a difference.

Nope, being from New Zealand makes no difference

Your case will be up to the CBP, obviously you have someone special in the US, that will be clear by the amount of time traveling to the US. You may be fine, or you may be asked to show ties - if this happens, do you have ANYTHING to show?

You may be asked one question, or you may be asked multiple. It's always a good idea to at least bring some sort of evidence of ties to NZ as backup.

I will have proof that i have enough money to live there easily for the 3 months. And would most likely have a return ticket.

All my family is in New Zealand but how do i show them that? As i said i have no property, but i will talk to boss and see if there will still be a job for me to come home to.

So is the VWP the best idea for my trip or is there a different visa which may be more suitable?

As long as you have no intention to marry, and plan on going back, then yeah Id say a VWP should be sufficient, it is good for 90 days I believe, but you must leave the country before it expires.

Yea Marriage is not an option at this point, we have only just met really. So what is the chances of being denied access though?

to fly for 20 ish hours costing $3000 i would hate to be turned back.

as always it is always a possibility that you could be turned away, i really dont think you will have a problem. My husband visited on this and actually was only coming for a month when enter and had the return ticket, once he was here we decided we wanted him to say longer so then changed his ticket for the remainder of the 90 days. They questioned him on how he was able to be on holiday for so long and so forth. Who he was visiting what his plans were, then stamped his passport.

Thanks for all the help, is it possible once there to find a job like an apprenticeship without being payed. Leading to being sponsored to come back to work if the employer was happy with me? I am sort of planning more long term visits but without working there in the future it may not be possible.

no you are not to work in any way.....you are here on HOLIDAY. Which means no work, now volunteer..i would say would be pushing the boundary. If you want to work or find work you have to go through getting a GC, or a work visa. It is very frustrating, and srtaining on a relationship, if our spouses could just waltz on in the US and work, we would all be singing HALLELUJAH. But that isn't the case, you have to go through the pain and suffering like the rest of us and use your life savings, and drain your bank accounts, and then some. Not fair I promise, but it is how it is

No, you can not take any kind of employment, paid or unpaid. You may apply for jobs and go job hunting, but you're not allowed to accept a job offer.

As with anything in immigration anywhere, nothing is ever guaranteed. But if you're a legitimate traveler and just plan to go for vacation, it's rare for VWP travelers to get denied entry.

Hi again,

So on the VWP i have to fill it out again for this trip? and the 2 weeks i already spent in the us does that count towards the 90 days i want to stay this time?
