Medical Exams and the AOS interview

My wife entered the US as K1 7/2005, and naturally her medical exam took place in Colombia just prior.

Here we are nearly 16 months later and only now have our AOS interview scheduled for next week.

In gathering all the required documentation, we are becoming concerned that she will be required to have another medical examination.

Can someone please clear this up for us?

As long as your wife's medical exam for the K-1 Visa was less than one year from the date you submitted your AOS paperwork, another medical exam is NOT necessary.

The interview date is not the important date.... the date you submitted the paperwork is the important date.

My AOS wasn't approved until 23 months and 1 week after we married - and 26 months after my K-1 medical. We filed a month after getting married. The AOS was approved without needing another medical even though it was over two years old when approved. As long as you applied for AOS within a year of the medical you should be fine.
