:( I feel like my life is totally on hold. I miss my husband, I miss my home, I miss having my life with him!!

And not knowing when I´ll be able to return is really killing me. I´ve been married for a little over a year now....and we got married because we didn´t want to be apart....but now, we have to be!

I am trying to enjoy being in my country. It´s fun to spend time with family and friends, but being away has been harder than I thought. I´ve been here for two months now and he came to see me a month ago....it feels like it´s been forever already! I´m going crazy! My interview will only be set once the US Consulate receives my NL Police Certificate, which takes 4 weeks. So I have to wait until the end of the month to hear anything from them.

I know the wait is worth in the end....because I´ll finally be with him! But how do you cope? Can someone please share their story? Thanks!

I think we can all understand the way you are feeling. It's the waiting that is so hard and wanting to get on with your lives together.

Try to keep as busy as you can with your friends and family and just remember that every day is one day closer to you being together.

Best wishes for a speedy approval.

Hi Alix

I met Jody online in 4 years ago on October 15th this year....He proposed to me 5 days after arriving in England from Dallas were he was working, for the 1st time...(1 month after 1st email)...I already knew he was my soul mate it was just a case of when he would ask....he proposed on one knee in the Rose garden at Warwick castle in England...romantic apart from the pouring rain!!.. we travellled back and forth until Feb 19th 2004 when we were married in the US Virgin Islands over looking the British Virgin Islands...my dream wedding..I was truly a lucky girl ...marrying my soulmate, wearing my dream dress, the sun shining down on all my friends and family..bliss.....and a honeymoon in a private villa with our own pool cut into the rocks...amazing. We went back to the UK together and 3 days later I was putting Jody back onto the plane to go back to Orlando. 3 weeks later he was back for a long weekend to celebrate at a big Caribbean themed party....then more tears again at the airport as I sent him back again....:(

Then torture as we are seperated again until Jody's visa comes through to come to the Uk..it was really quick though and by April 24th he is in UK to live and work HURRAH!!!!!...we had the most fantastic 15 months..just loving each other more and more each day...but I knew that Jody's career was suffering over here..he project manages skyscraper builds...not much call in the UK :( .so when he was headhunted back to the States I needed to let him go..we said 1 year..no more...however we are now at 14 months!!! at 11 months we decided that I would go live in the USA and hence all this started....I'm back visiting back and forwards again until its all sorted, but its really hard. I have good and bad days...the bad days involve bursting into tears on my own with no one for comfort...the good days...counting down to my next visit or Jody's next visit here....I go again Oct 19th...can't wait. I find it easier if I have a flight booked...its really hard otherwise as you feel in limbo.

These 4 years have been the most expensive and heart wrenching ever , but I'd do it all again to have Jody in my life, the most amazing man I've ever met....

I know it's completely silly, but I put a sign on my door that read Everyday is Another Day Closer beside his picture so I could see it on my way out. I also kept reminding myself that there are women out there with husbands who are at war and who truly don't know if they will ever see him again. It always made me feel grateful that I could phone him anytime and know that barring strange events, he's there counting the days as well. Allow yourself to feel what you feel. Don't feel guilty for feeling angry or down. It is human nature. Most of all...keep yourself busy!

Hugs! You will get there!

Thank you so much for sharing! I don´t feel so alone now.

MrsWhizz, congratulations on your visa!

Claire, my bad days and good days are just like yours. Unfortunately Dinho and I will only be able to see each other again when the interview happens, so I am in a limbo. I cannot fly to the US and wait there (long story!). Anyways, I hope you have a lot of fun on your next trip!! :luv:

By the way, will anyone live in Arizona?

I met my husband in Nov. of 2003. We married in Oct. of 2004. Since then I have been with him a total of 2 months.

How do we do it? One day at a time. We have days that are up and we have days that are down. Sometimes its me and sometimes its him. Sometimes it is both of us at the same time.

The hardest part is getting back on the plane and leaving again....for who knows how much longer until I am with him again.

Our wait I think this time is finally coming to an end, and we have hopes (for the second time) that we will finally be reunited.

The one thing I do know is that if the love wasn't strong there is no way we would still be together. If we put our trust in Allah/God all works out the way it was meant to.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
