Lots of people have travled on VWP and toursit visas to visit their significant others.

Remember, entrance and duration of stay is up to the CBP at the time of crossing. Nothing is a guarentee. To make it easier, your UK fiance should bring strong ties to the UK to show how he must return

Good luck

I don't think so

The K1 visa is for bringing a fiance(e) to the U.S. for the purpose of getting married in the USA

The CR1 visa is also for couples who marry in the US, but the foreign spouse returns back to their country of origin while the visa is being processed

I wish you guys good luck

Yes, you can visit on the VWP while the petition and visa are being processed. There is no law saying you cannot use the VWP while having a petition in your name or a visa under way.

However, since tourists are able to adjust status in the US when married to an American, you may have to overcome the CBP's suspicion that you're just coming to stay. You cannot enter the US on the VWP with the intention of staying.

Likewise, you may encounter problems with the UK Border Agency trying to enter the UK with a British citizen husband.

All in all, they'd both be afraid that you/him are trying to enter the US/UK as a tourist while in reality trying to immigrate, but if you can overcome this (With evidence that you intend to go home and wait out the process within 90 days) you're good to go!

And on the flip side, they don't usually ask "are you married?" when entering. You do not have to volunteer that information, so often times it's not even an issue. But if asked, don't ever, ever lie.

I sponsored my wife on a visitor visa before we married, knowing I would want her to visit afterwards..she got a 10 multiple entry visa. Once we were married and started the CR-1, she has visited 4 times. Coming in through JFK was never a problem, just asked who she was visiting. Flying into newark she got questioned both times, but they let her in.

The hard part will be getting the vistor's visa through, not visiting after
