I recently got married in Jamaica and need to file for my husband, I am a US citizen, I have contacted a few attorneys but they all give you their cost and cost to file the first document. They will not go into details, a few people tell me I can do it myself I just need to know how to start.

you can do it yourself. if you don't have issues with the immigration in the past, your married now so you will file 1-130 that will be cr-1 visa. it will take about 8 to 10 months, you will be with out your wife.when she gets her approval noa-2 then her interview if approval then the usa poe.green card, social security card to work.then two years later you file to remove conditions 1-751, then the last is us citizenship. n-400, vjmembers are here to help you with any questions you have ,read the guides, and look at the examples forms to help you.good luck.

Trust me follow the guides and ask anything you need to know. Take a couple of days to read threads about things that interest you or you may can relate (red flags, issues that may arise).

Be sure to check your countries embassy reviews (where your husband will be interviewing). Those are really priceless.

Join in discussions. It really helps relieve stress, strain and sometimes they are fun.

Whatever you do, dont waste your time and money on a lawyer. Trust me it will not be worth it. There is a guideline on here that you can follow or just look it up on the internet. The key is to prove that you have a bone fide marraige. People on here are very helpful. Link up with many people for Jamaica and you cant loose. Good Luck!!

hey Toya that was my question back in August so i did it myself linked up with VJ and its a rap our interview is May 30th in Kingston Jamaica, so yea dont waste money on a lawyer here we all help eachother view my timeline and if u have any questions dont hesitate to ask, and Good Luck and stay prayed up!?
