Are you getting married in the Philippines or USA? If you get married in the Philippines, your K1 will be useless, you MUST get married after arrival in the USA for it. If you are asking about the USA, as the previous poster said it depends on the state, but why will your fiance only be there for two weeks?

From what I understand,,, it is Philippine Law,,, Has to do with posting your intention to marry publically for 10 days.

Keep in mind he also, needs to get an affidavit of legal capacity to marry from the US consulate in Manila before you two can apply

for a marriage license.

You can get all of this done in 2 weeks,,, but, will require a bit of coordination.

Good Luck,

dc

I have never heard of anyone getting it done legally in the RP sooner than 10 days due to the law that states it must be posted requesting for legal capacity to marry. This along with other red tape that is customary in the Philippines makes getting it done in under 10 days "legally" difficult. I say leggaly because I knew of 2 people that paid fixers to get it done sooner. I DO NOT recommend a fixer. Both had issues later on during the process due to cutting corners... I am for doing it the legal way... It is always easier to remember the truth.... Subsequently both friends have had marriage issues as well so maybe Karma happened..... Good luck

hi is it possible to expedite you marriage license? my fiance will only stay for 2 weeks and we are hoping they will trim down the 10 day waiting period. anyone did this before? tnx...

Don't think 2 weeks is enough time. He needs to get his legal capicity paperwork. A lot of Civil Registrar Offices now require that not only you get a CENOMAR, but your U.S. Fiance also, plus attend a pre-marriage seminar. I do not now if it is age specific. Go to theCivil Registrar's Office and ask for the requirements as soon as possible. If your fiance has ever been married he will need to bring his divorce decrees. Good Luck.
